And the last one for tonight.

I've had this black bag for forever. I think that this was the largest sized bag in its generation. Would certainly like to know its official name and style number. It measures 16-1/2" wide x 12" high x 3-1/2" deep and has straps with a 12-1/2" drop.

Does it appear to be okay? And any and all assistance in identifying it would be certainly welcomed.

As always, I very much appreciate all the great thinks you folks do. More to come later this week.

Thanks

Onto the second one.

Staying with the same theme, I think that this is a style 9706 Skinny Flight Bag, but I could be mistaken. The color appears to be tabac. It measures 12-3/4" wide x 8-1/2" high x 3-3/4" deep and has 5-1/2" drop handles. I need to find the removable strap which I recall was a slender non-adjustable on like on the early Station, Convertible Clutch, and Pocket Purses.

Please let me know if my identification is accurate and whether the bag passes muster.

Thank you.

Yes, and it's genuine.

Genuine, style 5190 Envelope Portfolio from around 1987.

Once again, I don't know what I would do without all of you wonderful authenticators. I'm so grateful to have this resource.

Could you please tell me if this key chain is authentic or not? Thank you in advance.

Horrible fake . Is this listed for sale somewhere?

The genuine metal version never had a black coat, and the coat never had Cs all over it.

Genuine, Bonnie's Legacy Satchel from 2001 and 2000, in that order,

Good evening all. I hope that your weekends were good to you.

My youngest came up from the city on Friday to announce that in order to help her save for med school, "we" needed to start paring down on my "collection" and that she would magnanimously be more than happy to sell things off. She even reported that during her last few visits that she had managed to take inventory of the 200+ items she found in the workshop and in the bins in the storage loft and thought that she'd begin with the "MADE IN NEW YORK CITY USA" pieces. She was even "willing" to let me set aside all the pre-creed item. How generous of her. But maybe it is time for some of those treasures to be returned to circulation and put back to good use.

I told her that I didn't recall the provenance of many of the bags in that category as they were obtained from any number of sources. So now I've been assigned to get them authenticated for her, though she's providing the photos to assist in this effort. I've three items I'd like expert input on tonight.

Here's the first one. I believe that it was called a Flight Bag, but don't have the style number written down anywhere. I think that the color was called mocha though. It is 15" wide x 9" tall x 6" deep with 8-1/2 drop straps.

Thanks once again for sharing your knowledge and expertise.

I don't have a catalog listing for the handles-only Flight Bag but it's probably just an earlier version of the one with the removable strap, And I don't even try to guess at colors, especially the tans and browns. Just tell her to keep it simple and describe the color as "brown"

Comments: I'm going to post another listing with an item like this, just wondering if they are both authentic. There are a few differences in the charms.

Oh my gosh! Ugh! I didn't even pick up on that! How did I miss that!?!?

I'm sorry. I have no idea why they're different. I also notice (now that there are side by side comps) that Pegasus is different too.

I wonder what Hyacinth thinks accounts for the differences.

There are also tiny differences in the pink hangtag. And NONE of the others including the drilldown photo have a second keychain on the keyring itself. Usually Coach doesn't put a hangtag on the ring if there are already hangtags on the chain part.

The drilldown pic does show a darker blue background on the Cloud charm but none of the others do except the one being questioned.

It's always possible that the one from Bautista05_22 is a remake for the Factory stores, that wiould explain the small differences and the fact that the Pegasus on that one doesn't have a crystal for its eye since Coach tends to skimp on crystals in MFF pieces. Here's the original from Coach but it's not much help.

I'm going to call it Questionable.

After discussing bautista05_22 's Pegasus keychain a few days ago, I found another of her listings that I'm curious about.

As Hyacinth mentioned regarding the Pegasus keychain, it's possible that Coach made a different version for the outlets.

My problem is that when items come from the outlets, the market is flooded with them. Yet with these "different" items, bautista05 22 is the ONLY seller with them. And that makes me very uncomfortable.

Her's is silver; others are gold. And Coach's own site describes it as gold and the tag (from the one listing that showed it) shows B4 (brass) hardware:

And there are other differences as evidenced by the side by side pics.

Opinions?

Thanks. This large Flight Bag is huge compared to the 9706 Skinny Flight Bag. You could probably fit three of the Skinnys inside this one with room to spare. I'll tell her about the color. I voted for brown since it's actually a different shade than the mocha bags I have here.

There's no way to prove it either way. I've never seen the silver color before either and I definitely wouldn't risk buying it.

I vaguely remember something referred to as a Flight Bag that was designed more as a piece of luggage than a handbag. That could be it. But I've never seen any printed details.

ETA - AHA! I remembered where I'd seen it - in SacsMagnifiques' blog and I think it was posted at one of the Pinterest sites too, along with others from the Flight Bag family. Must have been the Throwback Thursday pages:
