Hello to all again. I'm on a roll today going through my project bins playing catchup. This bag was found at the local Goodwill. Given the low sticker, I risked just snatching it up. Would appreciate expert confirmation as to its authenticity (or lack thereof), as well as any assistance relative to the correct style number and name for this particular design.

Item: Small Turnlock Pouch
Listing number: N/A
Seller: Goodwill of CT
Link: N/A

Comments: The dimensions of this bag are 8" wide x 6-1/2" tall x 4" depth. The strap is adjustable and approximately 36" long.

As always, thank you for both your time and sharing your expertise.

Genuine. If there's a slip pocket under the flap it's style 9530. Coach called it a Shoulder Bag With Turnlock in their1986 catalogs but just a Small Shoulder Bag in 1983 so that's about the time frame when this one was made.

And a good Sunday to all. I went at risk and purchased this bag without having it authenticated first. Bad me. So now I'm looking for expert input to see if my impressions were justified (and make me at least feel better about having paid more than I probably should have). Also, though I know that this is the wrong thread for asking, if anyone can provide me with the correct style number and name for this particular design it would be much appreciated.

Item: Vintage Coach Coral Red Genuine Leather Crossbody Shoulder Handbag Purse 0446
Listing number: 231798023485 Seller: Goodwill of San Francisco
Link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Coa...BNEiPhh%2BAmRsKdARMgQ%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc

Comments: The construction of this bag compares favorably with that of a couple of narrower NYC-made style 5130 Shoulder Pouch Large (Station Bag) I have here. In the past, I've heard of this style referred to as the "School Bag," but can't seem to locate anything that definitely identifies it.

Thank you once again for your time and for sharing your expertise.

Both are authentic. #1 is a school bag #9695. #2 is small shoulder bag $9530.

It IS a School Bag, also from around 1986. The actual style number is 9695. Here's a pic from that same 1986 catalog:

ETA - There seems to be an echo in here... :D

Nice find!

And now my youngest has gotten into the act. It appears that she has been going through the top shelf of the closet in the workshop and has stumbled upon these. She does this when she's either looking for something she needs or just wants, or to pare down on my inventory of projects, both completed and otherwise.

So here are the two examples she's just brought in wondering if they're really COACH bags, and if so, what they are. I recall getting them from the same source looking as though they had been stored for quite a while in a damp basement. No a pretty sight. It's surprising what a little cleaning and attention will do.

The smaller of the two (lighter in color) measures 8" wide x 8" tall x 5" deep with 5" handle drops.

The larger version measures 12" wide x 8" tall x 4 " deep with 6" handle drops.

As always, all expert input in both determining the authenticity and identity of these vintage treasures is certainly welcome and appreciated. Thanks in advance.

And the last one for today (since she has to catch her train back into the city)...

She found this 2nd generation (double kisslock) Swing Bag with creed stamp behind a row of 1st generation ones (with striped fabric linings and metal COACH or BC tags) and next to another 2nd generation one (though that one is identified with just the COACH cartouche imprint). I've tried to explain to her the interior identifier progressions (as I know them), but she's still curious to authenticate this one and find out what the real name for it is. I told her that I've always called these Swing Bags (whether they had long spaghetti straps or the shorter chains), but don't recall where I picked that moniker up. It seems that I have limited credibility with her so would like a "second opinion" to show her.

This bag measures 6" tall (if you include the height of the metal feet) x 6" wide x 4" deep with 17-1/2" drop straps.

Thanks again.

I love these! It looks like you have a small 9685 and standard tote 9680.

I call them Swing bags too. The retro version made in 1991 was called that. I've never seen any ads that show a name for the earlier versions. This one was probably made in the mid 70s since it has a creed but no number.

Thats where I must have seen the name; on the same 50th Anniv Retro advert that contained the Lindy kisslock pouch info. I wonder how long it will take her to root out the example I have hidden away of that design? She probably has already found it and just hasn't asked (yet).

Thanks for the confirmation.
