Comments:
1. I'm not seeing anything that indicates that the bag is even Coach
2. I think I'm seeing silver grommets and brass other hardware
3. Is this a sort of authenticity disclaimer in the seller's description? Is she calling it "Coach" just because she knows Coach?
"Please know I have been selling designer purses for 17 years, I know my genuine Coach, so don't think for a moment that this isn't real because it doesn't have the creed, if you don't blieve me please google it and you will see they didn't use a creed til the middle of the 70's"

Think I found you all a little late.
I received this bag in the mail yesterday.

Item: "coach authentic handbag"
Listing #281920954899
Seller: marv1345
Link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/coach-authentic-handbag-/281920954899
or
http://www.ebay.com/itm/coach-authe...D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

Comments:
Creed: Is not consistent with other authentic Coach bags I own.
Leather: Doesn't appear to be real leather. It is stiff and looks/feels like PVC.
Bottom Insert: There is some odd insert at the bottom of the bag between the lining and the bag material. I don't believe Coach uses this.
Lining: Although I know there is variability in the lining fabrics Coach uses, the quality of the lining in this particular bag is low-rough with a low weave count.

Attached a photo of the creed. This was not included in auction listing. I know, I should have asked! (And will NEVER make that mistake again!)

Thank you!

Don't think the photo of the creed posted, so trying again.
This is for the "coach authentic handbag"
You're correct. The bag is fake and the serial number is one of the most frequently used invalid serial numbers.

Tell marv1345 it's fake and you want a full refund. And if he's foolish enough to want the bag back (since it's illegal to sell anywhere), tell him you want return shipping paid for too. If he's smart, he'll refund your full payment and tell you to destroy and dispose of the fake.

Thank you, BeenBurned!

In my first communication asking for a refund through eBay, the seller did not agree with my assessment that the bag was not an authentic Coach item and refused my request for a refund. I'm hoping Marv1345 will take the advice you shared.

Looking at the items the seller has listed, I'm thinking that s/he might not be all that familiar with purses and the claim made in the listing was an honest mistake.
Seeing how it is illegal to sell counterfeit products, it would be a smart move on the sellers part to resolve this quickly with the actions you suggested.

Thanks again BeenBurned and the Purse Forum!

It's irrelevant that he doesn't normally sell handbags nor that he "thought" it was authentic.

The law (and ebay policy) require that sellers KNOW items are authentic or find out whether they're authentic if they don't know or they aren't allowed to list those items. Clearly, marv1345 didn't even do so much as a google search of the serial number or he would have gotten his answer!

Just because a bag doesn't have a creed doesn't mean it was from the early 70s! The style wasn't introduced until around 1997. This bag wasn't made by Coach. There is no creed. The zipper pull isn't sewn all the way around which shows it wasn't made by Coach.

I remember seeing that wording before. Geez!

Hi, thank you so much for helping with my previous request! The seller refunded my and I didn't wind up with a fake. Can you please authenticate the below Station bag. I would love for it to be authentic!

Item # :236299044
Seller: Borecaone

I think it is authentic. I think you should know that the font is not what we normally see for this era. We saw another one a few days ago with this font.

Sheesh, I'm always torn when this happens. If I were the seller and if I'd made a mistake, I'd be grateful if someone would let me know. But not all sellers are appreciative of messages and you never know what a seller's reaction will be.

Maybe I'll report the ebay one as KWS since it's not Coach and shouldn't have been listed as such.

I wouldn't contact a seller that put something like that in her listings. She thinks she is an expert in Coach. I doubt she'll be receptive to being told she isn't.

ETA: It's gone.
