All the others except the Piece Of Junk from chronic fakes seller GUTSYGIRLS are genuine, although the tan #9713 isn't even close to being vintage, and the 9017 has a few years to go before meeting that definition too.

The first one doesn't look familiar. I can't remember ever seeing an authentic snap that looked like that.

The red wallet looks like a Bleecker leather compact clutch 40881 from 2007.
The wristlet is Bleecker leather wristlet 40885.

Thank you again!

I just did a search to see other vintage wallets and what kind of snap they have. It took me a long time but I did find one other small piece with what looks like the same snap as this large black wallet-- and the same style of edge stitching with only moderately rounded corners. The other item, a folding coin purse, was posted on an ebay community site and didn't really get much response but I'm hoping it helps with a connection to this snap? The link is here

and I am also attaching one of the photos as an immediate reference. (The post was originally made by eBay member Azuremerekat and this is their photo.)

Thanks Hyacinth, I did suspect 9713 isn't close to vintage but 9017's color is impossible to resist, so I'm buying!

GutsyGirls[emoji49] I detest fake sellers!

And the authenticator there said it seemed genuine. That's apparently NOT based on any details being correct but on no details being obviously wrong. Even if we could see the details, meaning the stampings, on the snap on the one you bought, that still doesn't prove it's genuine, for the same reason having zippers stamped YKK doesn't prove a Coach purse is genuine - anyone can buy real or fake hardware with the same stamping as the hardware used by Coach.

Small details like snaps and mag snaps were usually never shown in the catalogs, so they can't be fully verified. Many of my catalog files don't even include accessories, and many of the accessory photos may show the inside or outside of a wallet but not both. You also have to take into account that a lot of small accessories were only made for the Factory Stores and there are NO photos or details available about them from Coach or any other original online source. Small accessories often CAN'T be Identified or authenticated with 100 percent certainty. When none of the details match known genuine items, we're fully justified in saying it can't be positively authenticated.

Just for the record, I've never seen that style either, or any other Coach wallet with those interior details. The zipper pull is also unusual, and the edges of the wallet aren't finished off the same way Coach does them. Coach also doesn't, and didn't, use contrast stitching very often either especially in older styles. And I've never seen the Coach stamp in the same position as it is in that wallet. THOSE are the kind of details that point to whether or not something is genuine or counterfeit.

Sorry, that's NOT the same snap as the one in Azuremerekat's photos. There are NO concentric circles at all in the photos of the small green coin purse. The flat surface of the "male" part is completely smooth except for the makers' stamps.

Maybe someone will recognise what kind of item the photos of the snap in theBargainPrincess' album came from, and how old it is.

And we still haven't seen close-up photos of the snap from YOUR wallet, unless I missed it somewhere.

1- Sorry, we can't authenticate without a clear readable photo of the creed stamp and serial number stamp. It's PROBABLY ok but we can't verify that without creed photos. That seller has a really bad habit of not including them, and anyone who sells Coach on a regular basis should know better.

2- Again, no creed photo. The first photo is also not of the actual bag being sold, it's a picture "borrowed" (stolen without permission) from Coach's website, notice the hangtags are different. Again, probably OK but we don't like sellers who illegally use other seller's or companys' legally protected images, and we still would want to see a creed and serial number photo.

3- genuine Mini Shopper

4- PROBABLY FAKE and again, no creed photo. The "J4N-" serial number prefix in the description has never been verified as genuine and without actually seeing it there's a good chance that it might be fake. The fact that style number 4082 which is what the seller has listed belongs to a completely different style makes it almost 100 percent sure the bag is fake.

5- Creed photo isn't readable and the serial number isn't even visible.

We NEVER recommend buying any classic or vintage bag without a clear readable photo of the creed and serial number.

BTW, insert a space after "seller" and the colon before filling in the seller's name - you're inserting a Smiley where it's not supposed to be

I also questioned the location of the Coach stamp and the contrast stitching, as well as the way the inside pockets are formed. I don't know if it just the picture but the left side pockets look narrower than the right. The way the center part is folded under doesn't look like normal wallet construction - usually when there is a double row of pockets, they are constructed as long pockets and then sewn down the center.

I found a similar snap in my files.

So is Etsy now allowing 3 year old items to be listed because the style "sort of looks" vintage?

The bag is authentic but certainly not vintage and not handmade. It really shouldn't be on Etsy.

It's genuine. But as BeenBurned already said, it's MILES away from being "vintage" and calling it "vintage" and implying it follows Etsy's Rules is extremely deceptive.

Etsy has already gotten themselves into a LOT of trouble recently with allowing mass-produced Chinese garbage to be sold as "handmade" on their site. Ignoring their own Rules in favor of quick profits could put them in serious danger of losing their customer AND seller base and attracting unwanted attention from the Federal Trade Commission.

http://www.dailydot.com/lifestyle/etsy-reselling/

And there have been masses of complaints in Etsy's forums about the same subject, especially since Amazon is about to get into the "handmade" market too.

ETA - Finally found Etsy's posted rules regarding "vintage"
https://www.etsy.com/legal/sellers#allowed

"Everything listed for sale on Etsy must be handmade, vintage, or a craft supply...
...Vintage items must be at least 20 years old."

Sellers are still complaining in the Forum about items less than 20 years old being removed by Etsy:
