IMPORTANT READ-ME

Please post authenticity questions related to COACH in this thread. No PMs please.
For further information, please refer to the first post on page 1 of this thread.

Please follow the following requests:
  • Before you submit a request for authentication, please search this thread to make sure that the item has not previously been authenticated by searching the seller ID and/or item number. This is not a thread to ask general questions about COACH, please refer to our main Coach forum for such information.
  • Note that authenticators have the right to refuse any requests. This is a free service, but it is imperative that you help our authenticators by using the following format:
  • FOR ITEMS LISTED ONLINE:
    Item:
    Listing number:
    Seller and site where listed
    Link:
    Comments:

  • FOR ITEMS NOT LISTED ONLINE:
    Item:
    Where purchased or how obtained
    Comments:
BASIC PICTURES REQUIRED (but more may be requested): If necessary pictures are in the listing, it's not necessary to upload and duplicate them.
  • Front of item
  • Back of item
  • Full clear and legible creed text and serial number
  • Made in tags (when available)
  • Measurements
  • For bags with turnlock closures, show pictures of back of female side of turnlock
  • For bags with magnetic snaps, show pictures of the male part of the snap so that the numbers and letters on it can be read
  • If applicable, search interior of bag and/or pockets for small white tag with production information and include a picture of that.
Thank you and be safe!

You said it was a used bag, but you still bought it from somewhere. All we're asking is that you post where you bought it. If it was an online site like Ebay, Craigslist, etc, post the URL of the listing and the seller. We still need that information even if the auction or sale has been completed and the bag is in your possession.

If the sale or purchase occured too long ago for the listing to still be clickable or searchable, then just say so. But ALL questions about internet purchases require that information, not just inquiries about current listings.

Thanks for the additional clarification! It wasn't purchased online, however, so that may have been the confusing factor. It was purchased at a local Goodwill store. :)

I need to impose on you once more, needing authentication. Purchased at local thrift shop.

Comments: I apologize for taking so much space and not knowing the proper names of these items, I am not familiar with them, only the cosmetic pouch. If any other pictures or details are needed, please let me know. TIA
I'm not familiar with the cosmetic pouch but I don't see any problems. The second item is a photo holder, I believe. The third one is a PDA case, similar to style 8212.

The last two items appear to be swing wallets #4843 from the 90s, although those in my files have different zipper pulls. I don't think there are any problems as it wasn't uncommon for them to change small details.

All are authentic.

Yup, links to where purchased (if applicable) and seller ID if from an online venue.

Yeah, sorry about that. It wasn't purchased online so I didn't even think about including links. ;)

I do have an additional question about designer bags like this one. Say, for example, the coach metal stamp thing that is embedded on the front/center of the bags appears slightly tilted, could that be a red flag? I had a Jimmy Choo wristlet that had that problem but it was real as could be.

Okay, so there's no link but saying it came from Goodwill, yard sale or the like just tells us that it's not a seller we would want to watch.

As for your question about a logo being slightly askew, it can happen as you saw on your Jimmy Choo wristlet. However if it's way off-center or the crookedness is quite obvious, it's always a good idea to ask about it.

Thanks! I appreciate that! I promise to include that in the future!

In regards to the metal logo, I noticed it was slightly tilted on the Coach as well, but that was the only thing that concerned me about the bag at time of purchase. I then considered that there is a slight wave pattern on the bag itself, separating the pleated design, so since the creed numbers matched, I took the chance. It was only $14.

Hi ladies, I have a bag in possession that I would like to know more about it. It looks like a compact pouch 9620, but with a removable double spaghetti strap. Dimensions: 7.5 x 7.5 x 2

Thanks in advance!

I've seen it before but I don't have any definite information about it. It appears to be an early version of the compact pouch. It might have the same style number and name, or might have been called something different. It appears authentic. It looks like there are anchors on the clips.

That's all you had to say.

Sometimes WHEN it was bought can also help, since if it's fake we can tailor any advice we might give about getting your money back to the place and time frame when it was purchased.

All are authentic. The third one is a PDA (Palm Pilot) case.

They all look genuine. The brown zippered case with the Velcro is some kind of PDA or Palm Pilot case.

I don't have names for the others, and I'd need to see the backs of the 2 swing wallets to figure out what style they are.

Thank you so very much Beenburned, Hyacinth and Whateve for helping me out, you ladies are incredibly nice and helpful.
So, a PDA case.. wow! Make sense now :smile1:, photo holder instead of ID holder, and swing wallets from the 90S, so could they be vintage?

This is picture of the back, and another picture of the red pouch, because the bottom also has Coach engraved, may be helps to identify it.

That's great to know! Goodwill is excellent about that for their online auctions, so I would hope they are equally good about it in their physical locations. ..but you never know! This was a very recent purchase, but it's looking like I made the right choice!

They are inconsistent about authenticity, depending on location. I've seen obvious fakes at Goodwill stores and the employees won't do anything about it if you mention it to them. I think most locations are more careful when posting items on for online auctions but I still wouldn't bid without authenticating first.

I still can't find that exact cosmetic case but the logo and the lining lead me to believe it is from the early 2000s.

Item: Black Coach Swagger Bag
Listing number: this is sent through email
Seller: Poshmark seller

Comments: I need help figuring if its authentic. I don't see a date code on the leather tag she took a picture of?
Seller chibacb

I don't recommend Poshmark (period!) but especially for a style as highly and well-faked as Swaggers.

In fact, I started a thread a while ago when I saw how scary-close the fakes were:
http://forum.purseblog.com/coach/warning-swaggers-912206.html

Since Poshmark is unresponsive to reports of fakes, I don't recommend that site at all. I can state that not a single fake I've reported to them (through their "report listing") flag function has ever been removed. And I've reported many!!
