Please read the six Salearea Coach Guides, especially the ones on Creeds, Serial Numbers, Vintage Leathers and Coach Italy bags. These should be required reading for anyone interested in Coach bags especially the classic and vintage styles:

The green Glenwood is genuine but doesn't have the original hangtag. It was probably made in 1992 or 93, same as the other two.

The first blue one is a Glenwood.

The second looks like there's a mistake in the listing - the measurements are wrong since that one is a Mayfield and is smaller than the Glenwood, it should measure about 9.5x6.5 inches. That seller has mixed up the details in listings for those 2 bags before.

They're all genuine. Just because someone is selling 2 vintage bags doesn't mean there's anything suspicious, I don't see why there should be. And as to sellers being asked about here, there's nothing suspicious about that either UNLESS they've been named for selling fakes.

The seller vintagecornerfinds HAS listed several fakes before and I would avoid them if possible. They obviously don't feel it's necessary to authenticate their items. Quoting the Salearea Guides in their listings doesn't prove that they can tell real from fake. And it would be nice if they actually gave credit to the owner of the Guides that they Copied&Pasted that information from.

If a seller has lots and lots of coach bags for sale on eBay, is that a seller to be wary of? There is a seller with two almost identical blue Sheridan bags at differing prices. I'd love a bag like this but seller has one negative feedback on their eBay record for a fake. (Vintagecornerfinds). So I put that seller into Search box on this thread. Comes up a couple of times in authenticate queries.
Many sellers are "resellers," meaning they shop for deals, sometimes finding bargains on more than one of the same style bag and therefore having multiples. Usually, those sellers have new items. That type of seller isn't necessarily one to be wary of.

Other sellers such as vintagecornerfinds also seem to buy for resale getting a mix of pre-owned items. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that when sellers know their product, verify authenticity and make sure they don't list anything that is questionable.

And unfortunately, vintagecornerfinds doesn't authenticate her items before listing them and ends up mixing authentic and fakes. And IMO, that can be more deceiving to a buyer since the buyer might tend to be trustworthy of a seller who has some authentic items.

In the case of vintagecornerfinds, I'm aware of at least 2 fakes they sold and I wouldn't buy from them. (Additionally, they plagiarized Salearea's and Hyacinth's authenticity guides; selling fakes and copyright infringement -- a double whammy!)

ETA: Sheesh! Note to self: Read before posting to see if question was already answered. And make note of the date and time of posts I reference!

ETA again: This is important!! In the seller's defense, her recent negative feedback from a buyer who claims never to have negged a seller but that this seller sold a "fake" and was argumentative is undeserved.

I believe this bag is authentic.

I agree, the Sonoma she received the Neg for was genuine.

LOL! I'd posted the same question but removed it (also) because I wasn't sure I should have responded.

I too am interested in why she's so sure it's fake.

Me too.

I can't find any evidence of a Q plant in the US at any time. The first legit Q that I found but based ONLY on what is or isn't in my files or in current Ebay listings so far is early 2003 and was located in China, not the US.

Normally no one should report a possible fake based on unverified date and year codes without waiting for one of the specialists here to verify it. There's a very small chance that there was a US "Q" plant but it doesn't seem likely. What makes it more likely that the bag is fake is the color of the strap grommets although clearer photos would have made me more comfortable, so I'm inclined to agree that it's fake. Otherwise it would have been better to let it slide.

Thank you for the explanation. I didn't search too hard but the Q Chinese plants I'd found were also later than 2001. I just didn't feel totally comfortable suggesting that the bag be reported until someone more familiar with bags of that era chimed in.
