    Comments:

  • FOR ITEMS NOT LISTED ONLINE:

    Where purchased or how obtained
    Comments:
BASIC PICTURES REQUIRED (but more may be requested): If necessary pictures are in the listing, it's not necessary to upload and duplicate them.
  • Front of item

  • If applicable, search interior of bag and/or pockets for small white tag with production information and include a picture of that.
Thank you and be safe!

1- I'm seeing some white smudges on the lining and what looks like white coloring of some kind around the hinges on several of the pictures. The bag may have been re-dyed or even worse, colored with something like shoe polish. That bright white doesn't look natural on a 50-year old purse. Wait for WHATEVE to take a look

2- looks ok as to authenticity BUT THE STRAP HAS BEEN BUTCHERED. The seller mentions the cut strap in the listing but doesn't say how much has been cut off, although if none of the original holes are left it was probably cut at least 8 inches and probably more.

3- ALL BAGS WITH J8P- SERIAL NUMBER PREFIXES that say they were made in the US ARE FAKE. The back of the strap buckle is also stamped "Solid Brass" and Soho bags NEVER had solid brass hardware, which had been phased out almost 10 years before the date code in this serial number..

OUCH! (1) Yeah I was very impressed with how pristine the color is. I don't want anything re-dye [emoji20] or altered way too much like (2). Definitely can't accept fake [emoji24]

Looks like my hunt for vintage coach will continue. Thanks so much Hyacinth! [emoji253]
I think there is a good chance there is shoe polish on the white bag. Even if the seller didn't use it, it might have been done by one of the previous owners. In defense of white bags, I have to say they are extremely hard to photograph and almost always look whiter in photos than in real life, so even if a bag looks too white in photos it doesn't mean it was altered. In this case, I see white smudges on the lining and in the hinges.

Thanks whateve. As much as I like it, I decided to find another kisslock. This time will rule out white n black! [emoji17]

Thank you Whatev :smile1:

Sorry for the breach in etiquette
You're welcome. We don't care about etiquette here; the rules help for searches and to see patterns. If someone else wants to know about the same bag, they can search to see if it has already been authenticated. If someone down the road wants to see if a seller has a history with us, they can search that seller's name and see if we've identified any fakes for her.

Help! I am going nuts trying to figure out which style bag this is. It was authenticated here, but can't find it in the limited catalog pics I have. It has two open interior pockets, 8" x 8" x 5" and is a Coral or very evenly faded red, inside and out. It is almost like the small tote in the 1983 catalog photo. The next catalog I have is 1986 and it wasn't there.

Comments: The number is E0769-F10477 if you can't make it out. When I saw this at one of my local GW's I though it was a Fossil because of all the topstitching and the trimmings. I absolutely love the color and just everything about it. I thought it was missing the hangtag and when I went to clean it the hangtag was in the zippered pocket. It is stitched and has a couple of strips of suede. How cool is that strap? How do they do that? Also, do you know if it is missing a tab or something on the top zipper loop? The color is a little darker because it's wet, I had to clean it, you guys know how other peoples dirt gags me. Fingers crossed this is authentic, because I LOVE it!!! I would have bought it if it were Fossil too. :giggles:
