Ignore her. Just make sure you get your refund before you cancel the sale. The strike doesn't concern you.

Thanks to all of you who have so generously and quickly looked at the fake bag I bought. Wish I had never bought the bag but there are a lot of lessons learned, one of them being what a tremendous resource TPF is. Appreciate all of you!

You're welcome. I'm sorry you had such a bad experience. You picked probably the most faked style there is! Believe me, most bags on ebay and other reselling sites are authentic. Just do your homework and get them authenticated before you purchase and you'll be fine. My first ebay purchases were fake too, and that was how I discovered TPF.

My mother has had this bag since the 1960s, can anyone help authenticate it?

It is 11"w x 9" t x 2" deep -- looks gray in photos, was originally navy blue.

The strap is a little over 18" long, lost the leather hang tag long ago.

Thank you in advance!

OMG, that's gorgeous! I don't see any problems with it. I don't recall ever seeing that style before.

It's genuine. I have no idea what the style is called, but I'm drooling all over my keyboard right now. I LOVE those Field Bag-like details! Coach has used the name "Field Bag" for other similar styles with those big front pockets so maybe they used it way back then too. Too bad the strap isn't a few inches longer.

You can't sell it here on tPF, but I just love seeing new styles. :smile1: Your mom has good taste!

Thank you! Its been so frustrating, I sent it to Coach to be cleaned up, and they declined it, saying it was fake-- but my mother bought it at Coach, she remembers the day very clearly, as it was her first, and only bag!

That's ridiculous, but they don't clean bags or repair older bags. You should try contacting Jed Winokur with the Coach archives to see if he knows anything about it. Also, Tetondeb on tpf or at SacsMagnifiques might be able to help. We can help with cleaning it up here: http://forum.purseblog.com/coach-clubhouse/coach-rehab-and-rescue-club-833400.html

She can attach letters from the Pope, the Archbishop of Canterbury, and the Dalai Lama for all I care, the bag is STILL a POS FAKE. If she wants to come here and have a debate with me, I'm more than happy to prove her wrong.

You can give her a link to this thread too, starting with your original question
http://forum.purseblog.com/coach-sh...e-before-posting-889527-623.html#post29179640

For starters, Copy & Save ALL of the seller's listing photos NOW before the listing diappears, and save these three as well that I copied and enlarged from her listing - notice the misspelling of "scrtches" in the creed too. Wait for BeenBurned for more advice.

Meanwhile, as always, we don't recommend buying from sellers like uptownfoxfashion who make NO attempt to verify a bag's authenticity even when there's a free-to-use Fashion Discussion forum right on Ebay where she could have done it after she got your complaint, and where she SHOULD have done it before she even listed that fake. There are at least 5 or 6 MAJOR mistakes that prove it's fake beyond any doubt.

Just received her authenticity letter from a caroldiva.com. Went ahead and provided the original authentication link. Hopefully eBay is taking a look at all of this. Thanks again.

Since you have already gotten the return label, it makes no difference. That bag is 100% fake and anyone who knows even a little bit about authenticating Coach would know that.
