I've been handed down this beautiful vintage Coach purse by my mom. I'd love to know if it's real or not as she had a few fake purses in her collection.

The bag is authentic, and you are correct about the dates. I don't see how that hangtag could have come with the bag. I don't think it would have faded to that color if it had matched the bag at one time. I think it is 4017 Light hobo from the lightweights collection.

Hi, Whateve,
I’m pretty sure it isn’t the 4017 Light Hobo. 1) It isn’t lightweight at all. It’s pretty heavy. 2) The dimensions are bigger by several inches from the catalog description. 3) The top of the bag is straight across, not curved. I tried to straighten it out when I took the picture, but it is quite out of shape and it was hard to get it flat., so my picture might not have helped much. 4) The top of each side where the zipper is inset is a separate strip of leather from the side. (Or maybe it’s not separate, but it’s stitched to look like a separate piece.) See photo attached here.

Do you have any idea what else it might be?

Okay now back our usual programming!

At your convenience please look at this bag. I did receive it and I think the listing pics are adequate. It measures about 10.5” across the base and 7.5” high. My BT Oliver is excited for a friend.
Seller- Chase Chic

Thanks!

Hello. Can you please let me know your opinion on this coach bag. I purchased it and the returned it because
a. They sent a different number. See pic.
b. The brass verdigris was painted on or covered with glue.
c. The pattern seemed off. I am uploading a few pics.

I may of sent back a legit bag...

Would you please authenticate this new Coach vintage cosmetic case number 7172? Thank you.

Item: NWOT COACH Vintage Large Cosmetic Case 7172 British Tan Glovetanned Leather USA
Listing number: 205291542438
Seller: carissafinds
Site where listed: eBay
Link: https://www.ebay.com/itm/205291542438

Comments: The listing says that it is new, but I wonder if the bullseye means that it was sold for less? It seems like it might be a good deal if it's new, right? This seller seems to have a lot of new items listed.

Do you know approximately when it was produced? Thank you.

That's my best guess. You can look through the catalogs in the reference library to see if anything else matches. Lightweights are necessarily lightweight - they are called that because the leather is thinner than the leather on classic bags.
