That's probably because the stamped number inside is not a style number. It's a randomly generated serial/registration number. Please read the the Salearea Guides posted in this thread for more details:

I found this coach purse at the Salvation Army this week. I'm not able to find any information on this bag or finding similar bags with the style number and want to make sure it's authentic before listing.

Thanks! It looks like a style 9170, known at various times as a Classic Shoulder Bag or Classic Pouch, and was made between the late 1970s and 1988. Here's a catalog page from 1986:

Hello from Chile authenticators. I bought this mini bag on instagram. The measurement are 10.5 inches x 6.5 inches. The small handle is 13 inches and the large one is 38.5 inches + 6.5 inches. It has no No inside, but I know some mini bags don't have it, so Im doubtful. Please help me.
