Hi - Just reaching out as a last ditch -I am not able to find any comparable examples of bags Bonnie Cashin made under her own name. This bag has a metal tag like the "Bonnie Cashin for Meyers" bags, but this is only marked "Bonnie Cashin" in her signature. It is of high quality leather. the strap comes off and is secured with snaps. Could this be a precursor to the dog leash clip? I read in the Stephanie Lake book "Chic is where you find it" that Cashin often made small bags to accompany her fashion lines. Could this be something like that? Any thoughts are REALLY appreciated.

wow, gorgeous! It could have been made while Cashin was at Coach but there is no way to prove it. Many early Coaches have the same tag.

I did too, but all of those in my files have the same creed wording. I guess they thought it was too much trouble for a relatively small run.
