Dear Team, hope you are all well!

Would appreciate your help and expertise on the following bag:

Let me know if I need to follow-up with downloaded pictures.

Thank you as always!
The bag you're asking about is fine, however as my habit is to also look at sellers' other listings, I did do "my thing."

Although I don't get the impression that vivialeaaa purposely sells fakes, she doesn't verify her items before listing them. I also don't know the reaction if advised that she needs to have her items looked at!

Caveat emptor!

I found that the seller vivialeaaa has a fake Murphy bag:

She also has this fake:

Hello all,

I’m looking for assistance in authenticating and identifying the style of this bag. It’s been in my collection for a while but I’ve been questioning it more and more due to the two tone appearance. It looks like it is a grey bag with black trim and the strap is the same color as the trim. The bag is 11” wide, 8” tall and 2.5” wide. Thank you!

Thank you so much for your authentication and for your additional advice @BeenBurned. I had this feeling already and your examples confirm it. I asked her earlier today about authenticiy and she confirmed, not just about this bag, but also in general that all her merchandise is genuine and she has great reviews. So either she calls it a bluff or she is very unaware, as are her former clients. I will bring it to her, but need to think about best approach. Will do it this weekend.

I have a quick question on the bag I wanted to check. Do you have any idea on the history/age and what type of bag it is? Thanks again for your help!

It's a rare style in suede. It's a slim satchel "RuffOut" (RuffOut is what they called the suede versions) made around 1976.

As I said, I don't think she purposely lists fakes. I'm basing this on her other listings as well as the quality of her listings, pictures and descriptions. As such, I would think she tries to be an honorable seller even if mistakes were made and would want to do the right thing, learn about her items and hopefully, avoid such errors again.

Perhaps if you refer the seller to the posts here pointing out the errors. That way, you aren't the bad guy but just pointing out my post that mentions her mistakes.

As for her "great feedback," who knows? It's possible that her buyers didn't realize they got fakes or if they did, she promptly issued refunds and apologies and buyers were happy to have their disputes settled with refunds.
