I think this bag is fake. It's also not what I ordered. I bought an item on shopgoodwill.com from Goodwill Industries of North Florida: Coach Womens Brown Pebbled Leather Detachable Strap Bottom Studs Duffle Bag. Here's what arrived. I'm pretty sure it's a fake piece of crap. Opinions from authenticator(s), please. First photo is what I ordered. The rest of the photos are what I received.

Here's what I think. I purchased that amazing looking duffle as a "buy it now" for $7.99. Plus $26 shipping. I think they screwed up and did not intend it to be a buy it now. However, they offered. I accepted. So they created a label and did not ship and did not ship. I asked customer service to look into it. They gave me a new shipping number. And THIS ugly garbage arrived today. I'm pretty upset. I guess it knew it was too good to be true, to get that beautiful duffle which I think retailed for like $700.
The bag you received IS authentic, made in 2001.

But it's definitely not the bag shown in the listing.

ETA: You probably aren't in a laughing mood but I'll post this anyway. At least you didn't get this one:

Thanks! I'll admit I'm surprised. It also came with no strap. I don't like it. :) I want my beautiful duffle thing. I just don't believe I'm ever going to receive it.

Do they take returns, especially considering that you didn't get what you bought?
I asked them to ship my order. The right one. We'll see what they reply. I also did say (oops) that I thought the bag received was not only the wrong item, but counterfeit. I think they have the bag, just don't want to give it to me for the price agreed upon and paid. Worst case scenario, I dispute with my bank and get my money back.

ETA: One of the reasons I thought it was counterfeit (besides the weird fat smeary stamped numbers on the creed) is the fact that it looks too good. Too new. The leather is TOO perfect, soft and supple and clean. There is a burn hole in the interior, so it's not unused. It absolutely does not look vintage.

The creed in the listing is different than the one you pictured. Did they switch bags?

The bag in the Goodwill listing is not vintage. I'm not sure of the style number (similar to 93575 but different texture) but it's one of the bags made during the period from 2014 to approx. 2019 during which they stopped putting production/serial stamps on creeds and instead put them on a white label hidden deep inside the bag somewhere, often difficult if not impossible to find.

If it was a vintage bag you were looking for, this one (shown in the listing) wasn't it.

Personally, I think you should keep the one you received (for the price you paid) because you can probably resell it at a profit. And that one is vintage at 23 years old.

The creed in the listing is different than the one you pictured. Did they switch bags?
It's not a switch. The bag in the listing and the one they sent (the briefcase) are 2 completely different bags.

Hello authenticators,

I am at the thriftstore and I want to check this one-the back of the strep seems sus.

Let me know what you think

It's fake. The quality of the leather looks terrible.

When I am in a thriftstore sometimes it helps to do a search for the serial number on the bag, see below. If the number has been reported on fakes in the past then I walk away.

Thanks everyone!! I did a search on the first 3 letters of the creed because I wasn’t sure if it was one of the faked ones…the leather trip I think was vinyl. I would like to get to a point where I can really tell the fakes immediately but I am not there yet

appreciate you guys!

Hi everyone!
My mom found this wallet at a thriftstore long time ago and I wanted to know if is authentic. I know is harder to be sure with vintage pieces without creed tag, but maybe someone here can help me.

Measurements are 7" x 10.5" (fully open)

Thanks in advance!

Do you mean you did a search for the first 3 NUMBERS of the serial number? Searching for the first 3 letters of the creed isn't going to tell you anything. And Coach has changed those details often.

That H4B-0511 is a known fake serial number and posts mentioningit are easily found by using this forum's Search feature.

I suggest reading the Salearea Guides posted here if you haven't done it already. The Fake Coach Serial Numbers List is in the same thread.

Wait for more opinions since wallets are not one of my specialties, but there are too many details that just don't look right.

It's definitely fake.
