Cancelling an order if you learn the bag is fake is the right thing to do. You're saving yourself and the seller the hassle of a return.

eBay has a one hour cancellation window...for any reason.

I didn’t know that about eBay! I sell on eBay. So if a buyer cancels within the window does that put the item in any sort of limbo? Can it be reposted immediately?

I’m sorry for going off topic here, I can move this to another thread if need be.

When you accept the cancellation, the item will automatically be relisted.

Here's the full article, scroll down to Buyer Requested Cancellations:

As I understand it, a seller isn't obligated to cancel though. Most sellers do agree to cancel because rather than force a buyer to complete a transaction they don't want, they risk the buyer filing SNAD or finding another reason to return the item.

Great someone purchased my bag 4 mins ago. I had a feeling purse sniping happened in here. Le sigh.

Edit: just wanted to clarify I do NOT mean the authenticators, I am forever grateful that they share their knowledge for FREE to fellow Coach fans. I more meant lurkers who read this thread lol

Sorry it happened to you.
I totally understand how you feel, because it has happened to me too a couple times, so first I thought it was just a coincidence, but afterwards I realize someone watches the thread and snatches the "deals".
It is a risk we all take when we ask, although I didn't say anything here back then, I stopped asking for authentications till I got stuck in a very bad Ebay return battle with a totally nasty seller that kept harassing me.
This was a couple years ago, I learned that is better to risk it, and helpful to know the cancellation window of the different sites.
I hope you can find another one.

Argh I HATE that! It has happened to me a lot lately. Not the authentication and someone grabbing it, but people sniping me at the last second.

I hate that when it happens, I have actually purchased bags and then had them authenticated. Posh has a 3 hour window you can cancel. Probably not a nice thing to do, luckily I have only had to cancel once because the bag was fake.

(Meant as a reply to SYREN, sorry!)
It definitely wasn't me. Cute bag, but I like mine to have a lot more room. Anyway I was probably fighting with the FOS site trying to get my order verified - finally scored my "Grumpy" purse charm, and a "Sleepy" one too. I'm usually either one or the other.. Fingers crossed that both are still available!

I'm so sorry this happened to you, that was one of the fears I faced when I stumbled over my red Willis plus the fact that it was after 11:30 pm at night and the rediculous low buy it now price.Nobody should expect to have a bag looked at in the middle of the night.Plus the sheer folly of buying something without a creed picture.
It's not something I recomend doing,It turned out well for the seller and my own dumb self.

I do hope you find an even better deal.

I understand it as within an hour the seller has to cancel except if the item has already shipped.
