When you do, ask for a picture of the handle, shot from the top. That is something counterfeiters usually get wrong.

Please help me authenticate this brown 9951. The creed seems faded/soft, but it am I reading this right to say it was made in 1991? Was this bag made in 1991?

So, the color IS black(!!!) and the two photos of the creed I received were worse than the original one in the listing. I'm done with this one. I would suggest that if anyone takes a chance on this, take your own photos as outlined in the first post of this thread and get it authenticated ASAP after you receive it.

I wouldn't take a chance. The inside pocket should be a slip pocket, the last two digits of the serial number are definitely not 85, and the strap attachments look wrong.

I wouldn't take a chance. The inside pocket should be a slip pocket, the last two digits of the serial number are definitely not 85, and the strap attachments look wrong.

I got so hung up on the color that I missed the zipper across the pocket. Good catch on the strap attachment. It does look wrong. Thank you!

I don't know why the seller is using "M0D-9951" as part of the listing title, unless she doesn't understand anything about Coach serial numbers and copied the title from another listing. The actual serial is K4C-9951 and the bag is genuine, from 1994.

Sorry, it's a bad fake. None of the tags including the Made In, the leather hangtag OR the creed patch on the inside are correct, the year code is much too early for this design, and the style number in the serial number is for a completely different bag. A genuine style 1894 is a nylon Hamptons Small Tote and looks like this. Take the fake back to the store and insist on a full refund, selling fakes is illegal no matter who does it:
