It's authentic. It's a small zippered pouch, probably made in the 1980s.

Thanks for identifying the year. I looked in TPF catalog links. My bag is the Ranch bag. It was in the Fall 1990 catalog. They made it in British Tan, Forest Green, and Tabac to name a few. Maybe I will get very lucky and find one.

I found a Ranch in mahogany when I got interested in collecting more vintage Coach back in 2017. And it looked as thirsty as yours! Wow those were the days when you could get piping replaced!
It must have been the leather source for that time frame as despite a few deep conditioners recommended by others in the Rescue/Rehab in the Clubhouse forum, the color did not come back as well as other rehabs. Gorgeous leather just the same. But since that time, a few more products have been recommended so I may give them a try yet.
That front pocket is the bomb. I do see them listed in BT online regularly, often listed as Stewardess’s fyi!
