Item: Vintage Coach Court Black Leather Satchel Button Crossbody Bag 0984-205
Listing Num:355164694596
Seller & Site: Deals on Deals - Ebay
Link: https://www.ebay.com/itm/355164694596
Comments: AKA: Megan Bag #9921 Between 1988-1993 - I've included a better picture of the creed and the bag.
Stargate vibe - Chevron 3 is holding!
It's authentic.

I wasn't going to authenticate the bag from laurajo-39 but I have a few comments.

1. I'm speaking for myself when I say this. I don't appreciate being considered stupid or naive or I can't see what's happening when posters come here for confirmation of authenticity, confirmation of inauthenticity or to try to fool me (or us?) with trick questions. I'm aware of private discussions of me, my authentications, TPF authentications and that people are sent here for additional opinions when outside private groups don't know answers.

2. BE HONEST! Don't waste my time or that of other authenticators when you know answers. Keep in mind that TPF members are volunteers who offer our help as a goodwill gesture. We don't know any of you and owe you NOTHING, but we want to help (at least here in the Coach subforum) both buyers and sellers. We don't want to see buyers scammed with fakes and we appreciate when sellers are honest enough to verify their items BEFORE listing them.

3. Since trademark law disallows the sale of counterfeit goods and the law requires that all items be authentic, ebay, Poshmark, Mercari, Etsy and most other sites have policies that comply with the law. Sellers are required to KNOW items are authentic and if they don't know or if they cannot confirm authenticity, it's illegal to list those items!

4. TPF allows us (as volunteers) to answer or to ignore any request for any reason or for no reason. If you're ignored (and not just missed by mistake), it's usually for a reason you're aware of.

5. If you've been ignored, that means there was no verification of the authenticity of an item.

So imagine my shock and surprise when I saw that the bag that had been listed by laurajo-39 and questioned by both @crazycatlady76 and @godsgirl31415 AND NOT verified as authentic was already listed on Poshmark! Not only is it listed but the listing states that it's "*** Currently being authenticated; certificate will be uploaded once complete and will be included in your order ***."

I'd love to know what company authenticated it (or is authenticating it) because there are more problems than a missing R!

And interestingly (and IMO sneakily), the creed photo in the Poshmark listing is cleverly (not in a good way) such that the missing "R" in "number" isn't shown. Why would a seller do that unless to hide an important detail?

Note that this part of my post is NOT to help the seller (or the authenticator who she claims will be submitting a certificate) but to save an unwitting buyer $525.
Fortunately, there are enough other problems with the bag to state with 99.999% certainty that it's NOT authentic, should never have been listed and certainly shouldn't include a COA from any company.

According to her post here, "I need to know as I am a reseller, and authenticity is very important to me." If the poshmark seller(s) in question really wants to stay honest, she'll end that listing.

Again, NO item should be listed unless and until authenticity is KNOWN with 100% certainty.
Hello. First of all, calm down sir. I didn’t mean to get you in such a tizzy. I was merely recommended to this forum by someone on facebook who I am not affiliated with (but did post photos on that page also). In fact, your forum was the LAST that I reached out to, including professional third party companies, and they ALL came back authentic, except you. So while I acknowledge the time you spent writing out a long bitter reply, I do not need to bother you anymore.

By the way, the bag was professionally authenticated prior to listing, so thank you for your jumping to conclusions sir.

Also, I spent time looking through to see if this bag had been authenticated already… as your directions instructed. I found three other Coach Rogue/Dinky bags (including 2 tea rose!) that this forum authenticated with the missing “R”. I’m well aware that Coach has creed errors, and that it’s actually not that uncommon to have a missing “R” especially on a dinky. Again, I’m not sure why your response had such arrogant opinions and overall very rude, but I followed the rules of this platform.

Hello! was wondering what you guys think about this little coin purse. Could this #4848? Purchased at a local thrift store.
4” W x 2.75” H

Coach stamps can be very closely faked, and just on their own aren't enough for me to say with any certainty that a small item with no other proof of origin is or isn't a Coach, sorry. I don't recall ever seeing that shape or those zipper details before either but that doesn't prove anything. I have very little experience with Coach's SLG's and will just leave this one to someone else who might have a record of it..

Here's a listing for a #4848 Coin purse, and it's embossed on the lower edge. A photo of the product tag is in the listing.
I'm not suggesting the listed item is authentic either, but the listing might be helpful to Authenticators for your files.

Item: vintage coach 4158
Seller: Jasmine on Facebook marketplace
Comments: She only has 2 photos of the bag so I don’t know if that is enough for you to tell if it is authentic. I have not seen a vintage coach in this color before. Thank you for your help!

Here's another listing for a same/similar shaped coin purse and zipper, but different embossing. Again, not suggesting the link below is for an authentic Coach coin purse - for reference.

Mercari seller:
DeniRai64

I'm least comfortable with this one.

Hi, could someone help me with this bag?
seller: biscotee
online platform: vinted
measurements: width: 28 cm, height: 18 cm
link: https://www.vinted.be/items/4042259767-sac-cuir-vintage-coach
comments: I do see something off about the strap, but correct me if im wrong
Thanks a lot for your help )
The bag is authentic and appears to be 9455, Basic bag. The strap isn't original to the bag. (I don't know if it's a replacement Coach strap or a generic strap but the color doesn't match and it's from a much newer style.)
