Hi! I was wondering if someone knew the style of this vintage Coach bag? It was my mother's from the 1980s, and it has been well loved by me (unfortunately I only recently learned about how to properly care for these bags!) Any help is greatly appreciated.

This is strange.

I don't think I've ever seen it before. I'd definitely like @whateve to take a look when she gets a chance.

It reminds me a lot of the mid-1980s Twin Clutch, but 2 different size clutches attached together with the strap attached by rings at top of the bag between the compartments like the 9380 Twin Clutch. It also has a top zipper on one compartment and a through-the-leather turnlock on the smaller compartment which is shaped more like a clutch, like a marriage between a turnlock clutch and a Basic Bag.

The creed and serial look perfectly authentic but point to a date between very late 1989 and 1993. I wonder if it's a remake of the Twin Clutch but with slightly different details?

Here's the original style 9380, 1985-86 Twin Clutch, but I can't find the bag shown in the above photos anywhere, maybe it was a 1991 Anniversary remake that isn't in any of our scans or catalogs?

Anyone? Bueller…? Bueller…? @whateve...?

And here are several of the details on the Coach that kwilliams116 is asking about:

Hi authenticators, this is on ebay...is it real? Thanks again

Genuine, and that's the correct name. It matched an Italian-made Suede Brushstroke hobo so was probably also made in Italy, I believe right around 2002-03. I believe this was the matching bag:

Nice find!

ETA- I found a creed photo for the hobo, wristlets usually don't have creeds. It looks like the Hobo was a Limited Edition.

hola! Could you take a look at this bag? Please and Thank you!

Item: Coach Leather Satchel

Listing number: #157541306

Seller and site where listed: ThredUp

Link: https://www.thredup.com/product/women-leather-coach-black-leather-satchel/157541306

Comments: ThredUp is a$$hoe about showing the inside of purses. Reverse image search hasn’t been promising either.

I don't see any creed or serial number photos? We can't authenticate without good clear photos of those details, and DO NOT recommend buying without them in items or styles that are supposed to have one or both. There are just too many fake "Coaches" in circulation to take chances.

Hi! Thank you for replying. :) I looked through Coach ads from 1979 - 1994 but was unable to spot any exact replicas. I, too, thought it resembled the Twin Clutch, but with the front pouch like the Coach Taft Bag from the same time period (picture attached). So odd I have not been able to find any like it so far!

One thing -please include measurements with requests! That's listed in the READ ME post but too many new posters don't notice.

There are other bags with similar pockets to the Taft. There are only a limited number of ways to configure a pocket, and the rounded flap may have been more difficult to sew evenly and wasted more leather as scrap than a straight flap. Similar flaps don't necessarily mean that styles are connected.

Sorry for missing the measurements in the original post. It is 9.5" in length by 6.5" in height. I am unable to edit my initial post to include them.

Hi can someone authenticate this Coach Field Tote 22 In Signature Denim

Is this bag listed somewhere? If so, we need a link to the listing and the seller's ID.

If not listed, please state where it came from.

@theodesiahenry
I hope you return to your post and let us know if and where this bag is listed so it can be reported.

The bag is fake.

ETA: I found the listing on Mercari from seller evrf. It's listed at $209.95!

Please report!

ETA again: If evrf is buying for resale from Poshmark or other sites (as she claims in this listing), she needs to verify authenticity of items BEFORE listing them!

Feel free to refer evrf here.

Yes, I linked the listing perviously. Here is the listing https://item.mercari.com/gl/m34949541102?sv=0
It looks like either the seller or Mercari ended the listing.

If the seller did so, I'm glad that she did the right thing.

However I do have a comment. I dislike that sites allow sellers to remove comments/messages with which they disagree or that state something they don't like hearing.

In this case, I saw that (prior to the listing's removal), there had been a comment that the seller removed. I can only assume that the comment was negative toward the item and its authenticity however in removing the comment, instead of making the seller look good, the removal and notification that it was removed reflects poorly on a seller, implying that she knew it was fake and was hiding something in redacting the post.

If an item is authentic, why remove the question?

In any case, the listing is now gone and hopefully, it won't be relisted.

Thank you yes she removed the listing after I stated her bag was fake. I figured it was fake prior, which I believe was the comment she deleted the C’s didn’t look like official website’s thank you for your help!
