Hello Everyone!

I recently picked this up at the thrift store before closing, so didn't have time to really look at it...but upon closer look, the zipper and the hardware are different colors and the number (5130) isn't a station bag. I got as close to the creed as possible, but it's pretty worn.

Measurements: 8" x 5" x2"

Thanks for any help you all can provide!

FAKE. In addition to the problems you already mentioned, the top zipper pull with the extra loop is a design which at the time was only found on fakes, never on genuine Coaches. The two halves of the base seem to have mismatched pieces of leather, the zipper pieces seem to use different color metals, the creed stamp is badly stamped and too low and so is the serial number, and the entire serial number is invalid. The mixed colors of the hardware and the zipper should have been a big red flag.

Take it back and insist on a FULL refund. It's illegal for anyone INCLUDING THRIFTS, CHARITIES AND NON-PROFITS to sell counterfeit merchandise.

Speaking of sellers not getting the details right... I bought this bag because I think it's a 9929 "The Sling." Seller calls it a "Bixby" and shows as the primary picture a bag which is not the one for sale. Different color, different style. Very peculiar! Anyway, I'm looking beyond all that at the real bag for sale, which I think is wonderful. Please and thank you for taking a look and verifying authenticity!

The last 2 photos you posted show a genuine 9929 Sling made in 1994. The Bixby wasn't even released until 1997.

Don't ever expect sellers to know the names and details of what they're selling. And always check to make sure you received the exact item you ordered.

Thank you!! Good advice! The bag is on its way to me. If it's not the bag pictured, they'll hear about it! :)

Thanks for the link Hyacinth. It's full of great information and I do remember reading this now .."when 2004 rolled around, a zero had to be put in front of the old 1-digit month code so as not to create confusion" :)
