Will Savers in your area allow returns on bags? (I did fight for one once but post-pandemic, their return policy is only on clothing and shoes.)
IDK. If they don't, no worries. I'm not going to fight over a $3.99 refund but I'll mark the bag 'counterfeit' (with a Sharpie) and leave it to Savers to dispose of.

Just curious: what do others here do when they've bought non-returnable bags that are later evaluated as fake? Thrown them in the trash? There must be a better alternative.

Genuine and made in 1998.

I can't compare leathers, sorry. There are six pages of posts that come up in a forum Search for "coach leather Hungary" so you might want to read through those.

@Hyacinth gotcha and thank you!! I guess I’m specifically wondering if it’s any thicker or thinner than from the other countries rather than an opinion. I can search through other posts to see what I can find. Thank you!

I agree that I am against adding to landfills with fakes.

I did see a gentleman at Saver's recently looking to find something to buy because the $79.99 Louis Vuitton bag he'd bought was determined to be fake. They did allow the exchange as they did when I insisted on exchanging a fake Hermes wallet I'd taken a chance on. (Of course, the $125 I paid to Bababebi for the (un)authentication was my loss! But I'm a principle girl and insisted on getting something else for the $7.99 I'd paid.)

If you insist, they'll usually allow an exchange but not a refund.

Is the leather, strap, hardware, etc nice enough to keep as potential repair parts?

The leather, maybe. The hardware and strap are blatantly fake, so that's a no.

I wondered about doing a gentle rehab and donating to a women's shelter. The leather is actually quite nice, it was obviously used for some time, and it's a pretty shade of dark green. If I did that, I wouldn't Sharpie-mark it as FAKE--how humiliating to receive something like that.

Hello friends! I picked up this Dakota Lariat bag at Savers this weekend. Could I get some expert eyes on it? The quality feels right, and the interior leather is really nice. That said, it might’ve been a factory second or a discard as the creed tag says irregular (there’s a large dye stain inside the back pocket, so I assume that’s the reason it was marked irregular).

Thanks as always!

It's authentic and a great find!

The irregular stamp can be done for any number of reasons or, as seen in some cases for no (obvious) reason. Sometimes an item is shopworn, or may have stains, scratches or ink marks.

Hello Ladies, I have a Multifunction Purse / Wallet that I purchased20230923_152527.jpg from a Coach Company Store years ago. I'm curious about the official name and age. It's 5" x 3.25". I believe it's close to vintage now as I've had it stored in my collections for sometime. Thank you. 20230923_152254.jpg20230923_152342.jpg20230923_152552.jpg20230923_152444.jpg20230923_152316.jpg
