Please follow the following requests:
  • Before you submit a request for authentication, please search this thread to make sure that the item has not previously been authenticated by searching the seller ID and/or item number. This is not a thread to ask general questions about COACH, please refer to our main Coach forum for such information.
  • Note that authenticators have the right to refuse any requests. This is a free service, but it is imperative that you help our authenticators by using the following format:

BASIC PICTURES REQUIRED (but more may be requested): If necessary pictures are in the listing, it's not necessary to upload and duplicate them.
  • Front of item

  • Full clear and legible creed text and serial number
  • Made in tags (when available)
  • Measurements
  • For bags with turnlock closures, show pictures of back of female side of turnlock
  • For bags with magnetic snaps, show pictures of the male part of the snap so that the numbers and letters on it can be read
  • If applicable, search interior of bag and/or pockets for small white tag with production information and include a picture of that.

Very nice! Yes, it's authentic.

The seller doesn't describe it in a way that would have made the bag more desirable. It's a scribble stitch bag and the multicolored pattern is actually embroidered onto the white background. IMO, it's nicer than the screenprinted pattern.

There's a good reason for that - because it's a VERY bad fake.

Coach didn't use any kind of gold stamping on creeds until the 2006 65th Anniversary Legacy bags, and all those were in a script rather than a block letter format, stamped AND impressed, meaning the stamp was pressed into the leather patch as usual and then gold applied only to the stamped (indented) lettering.

This fake is a ripoff of a style from the early 1990s and should NEVER have any kind of "gold" on the creed, just the usual vintage Coach creed stamp. There are a lot of other problems with it but it's basically a piece of fake garbage. I hope you didn't buy it.

I noticed that the site it's listed on doesn't seem to have any rules about selling only authentic items. If a site won't stand behind the laws of the country (this one lists its location as California) where IT OR it's members are located, we DON'T recommend dealing with them. Their Terms even say " Vinted has no control over the quality, safety, morality or legality of any aspect of the Items listed, the truth or accuracy of the listings...You use the Vinted service at your own risk." and state that ALL problems have to be handled between the buyer and seller - meaning if you get sold a fake, too bad Charlie, you're the one who has to get your money back. There are half a dozen places in the TOS where they make that very clear.

NEVER DEAL WITH OR THROUGH ANY WEBSITE WITHOUT THOUROGHLY READING AND UNDERSTANDING THEIR FAQs AND ESPECIALLY THEIR TERMS OF SERVICE.

I'm glad to hear that the site removes fakes when reported. But anything bought from websites that use the "just a venue" model should always be authenticated here before buying.

WHY would anybody use a site like that ??? I DO NOT RECOMMEND DEALING WITH " VINTED " OR ANY OF ITS SELLERS.

No I didn't buy it I thought it could be fake because it looks really tacky inside, but outside was cute. thanks so much! I have found some cute items that were authenticated by this forum on there (vinted) so not all sellers are bad as I am sure you would agree and I have flagged items adn they have been removed b the mods.So at least there's that. Thanks again.

I'm glad to hear that they remove reported fakes, but since they're located in the US they should consider have a clear anti-counterfeiting statement in their TOS. Maybe they do and I missed it. I've modified my original comments.

Unfortunately, other sites like Listia for example don't even feel they should remove reported fakes, and any site who handles - or should that be DOESN'T handle - reported fakes should be avoided completely.
