Thank you and sad that Goodwill authentication is untrustworthy. Thanks for the suggestion about the threads too. My dog looked very similar to your avatar when he was a puppy. Awfully cute.
Thanks for your compliment about my dog. How lucky you are to have his twin! Mine passed over the rainbow bridge many years ago. I still miss him. He had a good life.

Bag 2: Patricia’s Legacy in black
Serial: J8P-9951

I read one comment that said that this serial number is only fakes. In another place in this forum, I saw a bag with this serial number given the thumbs up. Confusing. It has the ominous “solid brass” marking and various other suspicious things. The zipper is big and sturdy though.

Let me know. Thanks in advance. I’m glad that I didn’t pay much.

This bag is fake.

J8P-9951 isn't always on fakes and it's not always on authentic bags. Depending on what the creed states (text) and the font and codes of the serial number, the bag can be either.

In the case of your bag, the text of the creed is contradictory to the plant code in the serial number. P is a Costa Rican plant code but the creed states that it's US made.

There are other problems also but because your concerns were about the serial number, that was my focus.

Thank you, at least one worked out. What do I do with it now, if I don't want to use it? It seems kind of wrong to put it back in the Goodwill ecosystem.
Don't donate it. If you can cut out or obliterate the creed, it will be a generic bag and can then be donated. You might save the strap or hardware to use on other bags, or cut up the leather to use for other projects. I still have the two fakes I bought early on. I've used the turnlock hardware on another bag. Other than that, they are in my closet to remind to be careful.

Good suggestions. I'll find some practical way to use it. It could be a dog park bag. Or, I could hang it on the wall and put something in it, using it like a basket. If I can't come up with something, the resourceful people in my Buy Nothing group surely will. I just won't mention my purse addiction to them. Lol.

I can't give a definitive answer, just speculation.

I've purchased items at outlet stores that had "FS" tags added at (outlet) store level. However most outlet items have "F" tags.

But in looking through some of the pictures in my files, I also found some "FS" tagged items that I know didn't come from outlet stores.

MARSHALLS PURCHASE: I purchased wool beanies at Marshall's in 2006. The following pics show the stock image and a tag from one of the hats I bought.

Thanks Beenburned! Sorry I'm late to respond. I appreciate these pics. I noticed the first one said Factory Store price and that was something I thought of when I first saw the tag.

Happy Good Friday Ladies,

I’ve hunted down my Unicorn, and am awaiting its arrival. Meantime please can you (hopefully) authenticate for me:

Where: Ebay
Seller: ceoshopping
Item: “COACH duffle Anna Sui collaboration shoulder bag black leather dragonfly purse”

Comments: Seller has been noted on this site for selling authentic bags mostly, but unfortunately some fakes too. Consequently I’m holding my breath.

Hello! I need help with authenticate my bag.
I was doing spring cleaning last week and found several Coach bags in my garage.
It's my bad habit that I buy things and forget about them....for a long time....
I guess I never looked inside (didn't check until now), and I found one Coach bag has "Made in Korea" creed...!!
I just joined here today, hoping that I would not make the same mistake again.

I have this Orange(?) Coach bag #9086.
Does this look ok...?

Thank you.

Looks nice! The model is 9086. Made in 1994. I am not sure of the color name.

Can you please help me authenticate this bag that I got from local thrift shop?

Thank you!

This looks pretty fake to me but I’ll leave it to the experts. Notice the “REFLEOTS” in the storypatch and the lack of detail in the coach logo (the horse) on the outside of the purse. The style number (the part that comes after the hyphen) is also supposed to be for a tote bag. The C’s on the bag are also not centered (which I heard isn’t always telling but there seems to be no intent on the maker making it symmetrical)
