Item:Coach 9822 Rambler Vintage NAVy
Listing number: 163056321
Seller and site where listed: ShopGoodwill
Link: https://shopgoodwill.com/item/163056321
Comments: My Granddaughter wanted a vintage Coach bag for her birthday. She bought one off of Etsy and I appreciate that I was able to get it authenticated after the purchase. What I did not realize was that she was bidding on bags on several auction sites. Unfortunately, she ended up winning this bag on ShopGoodwill.com. It just arrived in the mail and I am hoping that it is not fake. Just doesn't feel right.

For #1 (Mercari), I can't read the creed text or serial number but if you've copied the style number correctly, it's incorrect for the bag.

I'd appreciate a large clear closeup of the creed and serial number.

For #2 on PM, the bag looks good.
Okay I double checked the picture and zoomed in on the creed it’s definitely F11312. I couldn’t find listings for it on coaches website but I saw quite a few postings for this same style on Amazon in other countries and other sites. I’m guessing they consider it a laptop bag and not a briefcase hence the similar but different style number?

It’s scheduled to be delivered tomorrow evening so I’ll get you better pictures when I get it.

It's authentic. It isn't a Rambler. It appears to be a collegiate bag probably made in the 80s.

Would you please authenticate this bags I purchased at an estate sale? It's about 9" x 5" x 2"
Thank you

Thanks so much. I was so thrilled when my granddaughter showed so much interest in my love of handbags. Sadly, she went wild on various online sites. I had to take away her ability to bid on anymore items by changing all of my passwords. She doesn't understand that one has to honor their bids and pay for their wins. Her words "Grannny, blow them off...they can't make us pay." So disappointing.

You're welcome. The collegiate bag is super cute and pretty hard to find. Sorry you had to deal with that. It's great she loves the bags. Hopefully eventually she'll develop a sense of responsibility. Maybe she should start selling so she can understand what it feels like to be a seller when buyers do that.

To clarify:

1st bag: Coach Briefcase from 2018
Seller: Nichole on Mercari
Style: B1861-F11312

I’m curious to know their “names” if you know them

The bag looks fine. The other bag I'd looked at listed a different style bag as this style number that the seller had misread/mmistyped. I wanted to verify the creed from your bag.

I believe you are correct that the bag is a Hamilton (something) because I did find a listing showing the tag from the similar 11319 style.

What you referred to in listings as NILET is actually the hardware/color code from the tag. "NI" is nickel and (evidently) "LET" is the color code for Black/Oxblood:

Hello Authenticators,
I have one last request for this week I promise. Could you please take a look at this bag at your convenience? It looks and feels like my other Soho flaps but I have no idea why there's an FS on the tag so I thought I should just ask the experts. Thank you again for any help.
FOR ITEMS LISTED ONLINE:
Item: Coach M050-9247
Listing number: 163175022
Seller: Goodwill of Central & Southern Indiana
Comments: L: 10" x H: 6" x D: 2"
I added extra pictures. Thanks again!

Those FS tags are put on at the store when the original tag has been lost. I never thought of it before but I wonder if the FS on the tag has the same meaning as the FS stamp on the creed -- final sale. @BeenBurned @Hyacinth what do you think?

Thank you!!! I’ve been lucky so far but looking back at some of these posts has me nervous to keep trying my luck considering how legit some of these look if you don’t know!

  • If the bag in question is not on an auction site, please use the following:

Item Name (if you know it):
    Link (if available):
Then attach any photos (all authentication must include photos.)
    • Please be sure to include a clear readable photo of the creed stamp and serial number from inside the bag or accessory if there is one, and the bag's measurements when the bag is an older or vintage leather Coach.
    • Since mid-2014, Coach stopped putting serial numbers on creeds so in newer bags where the creeds don't have serial numbers, we also need to see pictures of the labels/tags from inside the bag. They are either both in the main open part sewn into the seam of the lining, or one might be buried deep inside the zipper pocket. One shows where made and the other has a serial number.
