Below are creed images of other listings with the EXACT same style number, 4952. What I have noticed, from the limited items I was able to find online, those handcrafted in costa rica have the additional inscription, " that is water resistant and exceptionally durable." Whereas those handcrafted in the united states do not. That is what had me question authenticity. But when comparing among those made in the same location, wording matched, so still authentic? Does this mean, not all from the 4952 style are considered, "water resistant and exceptionally durable?"

No, it just means that the different plants were issued slightly different stamps by Coach, and one bag was made a year after the others. Coach had added to the creed wording and probably just ran out of room. Coach often changed the creed wording on their stamps in the late 1990s and 2000s. I don't see a problem with any of the creeds or serial numbers.

And thanks very much for the photos! The style name was "Helen's Legacy Nubuc" and they were made in 1997 and 1998 as both Nubuc and smooth leather variations of earlier styles. The Nubuc versions used Sonoma-style numbers, the smooth leathers used the original style numbers. The Sonoma line was being retired and Coach used up the remaining stock of Sonoma leathers, linings and a few other bits on these and several other small lines that were only made for a short time. Like using up those little containers of leftovers in the fridge, but for handbags instead of fried rice. :biggrin:

Comments: Another New York City bag for me to rehab! :smile: Does this one look good? I think it's a slim satchel. Please and thank you for an evaluation. I know it's hard to look at color online, but what do you think? Is this "taupe" as advertised or British Tan or what? Seller's measurements: 13 x 7 x 2.

Genuine.

I don't do colors but it looks like British Tan to me.
