Both are authentic.

Hi Authenticators,
I bought this bag today bc the sateen interior looked amazingly clean but the leather is light and thin so I'm not sure anymore. I only found one on eBay and it has the same serial number but I know better to just ask here. I appreciate any help. Thank you!
FOR ITEMS NOT LISTED ONLINE:
Item: Coach J0968-13881
Where: Local Goodwill
Comments: approx. 13"L x 13"H x 4" W

It's fine.

I'd seen the listing earlier and didn't comment because of the difficulty of really getting a good feel for the creed.

My first thought is that it's okay but the underscore under "No." appears longer than the comps and the hyphen between the prefix and the style number appears shorter than the comps. The variation might just be a result of the angle of the photograph.

Those are exactly the same details that I was concerned with. BUT - I was looking for 1995 listings, not 1996, so even reading the year code was a problem for me. Those C plant code details for BOTH years were pretty distinctive.

There aren't any other "J" month codes for that plant and year 1995 in my files. There were six listed using Ebay Advanced Search but I couldn't open up the photos in the listings. Ebay Search stated that they were all from non-US sellers which worried me.

I do have a couple of authentic J 1995 C in my files.

I also have a fake J5C in my files. The bag in question definitely doesn't match the fake.
