Hi, I’m brand new to PurseForum but have been so inspired by all of the wonderful rehabs that I have seen. I’m just about ready to try one for myself. I am interested in this vintage hippie flap that measures about 9 x 9. It is Style 9135 in possibly a periwinkle color? This is from Facebook Marketplace and the pictures I attached are the only ones I have. I believe I read on this blog that 9135 only started to be produced in 1999 and this creed indicates 1998. Is this correct, meaning the bag is counterfeit? The seller is standing by her listing saying it’s genuine. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you kindly!!

I’m not sure if the first picture came through so trying again. Sorry for any inconvenience!

There are MANY other problems in addition to the year and the color. DON'T BUY IT.

The creed stamping is VERY poor and there are dozens of large and small stamping and punctuation mistakes, as well as other serious mistakes that Coach NEVER would have made. It seems like half the letters are broken or incomplete, every single word seems to have a problem! Take a GOOD look at the creed stamp. Would a reputable company like Coach let something so badly made out of one of their plants?

I hope you didn't already pay for it, it's a very poor quality counterfeit. We DON'T recommend buying on Facebook marketplace, it's one of many well-known dumping grounds for fakes.

Okay thank you so much!! You’re a lifesaver!

Hi, I have one more for you. This was one I found at a local thrift shop. I didn’t notice the bad dye job until I got home so please ignore any splotches you might see. I don’t want to do any rehabbing if it’s not authentic. It is a 9061 Rambler’s Legacy made in the USA. The original color was navy and the dye job is a slightly brighter navy. It’s a shame because the bag is in great condition otherwise :(. Thank you again!!
