  • For bags with turnlock closures, show pictures of back of female side of turnlock
  • For bags with magnetic snaps, show pictures of the male part of the snap so that the numbers and letters on it can be read
  • If applicable, search interior of bag and/or pockets for small white tag with production information and include a picture of that.

Comments: I just received this bag. I purchased it for my daughter-in-law to use as a diaper bag (Before I found the Purse Forum). The handles feels very, very hard like a plastic leather. It feels like nylon. And the inside feels like a cheap plastic. seller posted its authentic however it does not seem to be. I didn’t pay attention to the little coach hang tag. It’s not embossed on both sides and it too feels like the handle leather. Waiting for your response before I accept the order From the seller.

It's authentic.

I have that wallet as 7893 polished calfskin framed wallet.

The serial number is wrong for the 1996 C plant.

Tafts are highly faked and buyers need to be careful. Additionally, Poshmark is (IMO) one of the unsafest online sites.

If you've already accepted the order, dispute it with your c.c.

Haven’t accepted so hoping this will be straightforward. I want to try a Taft so this is so helpful to know for the next one. Thank you!

What sites do you trust? Shopgoodwill and eBay alway seem to have problems, FB Marketplace is hit or miss, and I’ve heard folks have had issues with returns/refunds on Etsy too. And the prices for Coach ReLoved are simply insane, even with added security of knowing those are authentic.

It makes me so incredibly grateful for the work you all provide here!

This is my experience: I've found that Ebay, Mercari and Bonanza respond to reports of fakes. Tradesy responses are spotty. Etsy and Poshmark are absolutely shi!tty in their lack of response to reports, IMO. If a seller is told an item is fake and if that seller is honest, she will end her listing. But generally, sellers on Poshmark and Etsy have already been either banned or restricted from the more responsive sites and those sellers don't care about integrity.

This isn't to imply that there aren't honest sellers on Etsy and PM, but because of what I've witnessed over the years, I can't recommend those sites, especially if you (as a buyer) aren't skilled in determining authenticity of items.

It's fine.

ETA: There's one listed on ebay as 4730 but my records for 4730 show a slightly different checkbook insert (with pockets) for that style. Thus, I'm not sure of the style number of your wallet.
