BASIC PICTURES REQUIRED (but more may be requested): If necessary pictures are in the listing, it's not necessary to upload and duplicate them.
  • Front of item

  • Full clear and legible creed text and serial number
  • Made in tags (when available)
  • Measurements
  • For bags with turnlock closures, show pictures of back of female side of turnlock
  • For bags with magnetic snaps, show pictures of the male part of the snap so that the numbers and letters on it can be read
  • If applicable, search interior of bag and/or pockets for small white tag with production information and include a picture of that.

Comments: can you please tell me what the color is? It needs a bit of love and restoration. I have color cream in Bone, Neutral, and cream. Not sure if any of the colors are correct for this bag. TIA

We aren't trying to be difficult but the required info is necessary both because we want to be able to give accurate authentication opinions and we need to make sure (esp. for online purchases and listings) that we're evaluating the correct listing.

Especially for ended listings that are so longer available, ebay sometimes redirects you to a completely different listing from a different seller and we need to make sure the listing that comes up is the one you want assessed. Knowing seller ID and item number help to verify that we're looking at the right item.

There are mistakes in which "I" was used as the month code as well as errors in which "N" was used as a month code.

Although I can't specifically recall fakes with "I" month codes, there have been fakes (as well as genuine bags) with "N" month codes.

Genuine, the year code looks like 1999. I don't trust computers or cameras to show colors correctly so I don't try to guess them from photos. However, the month and year codes for February 1999 according to the Early Spring 1999 catalog seem to narrow it down to Bone.

Correct, ANY J8P-serial prefix with a Made in the United States creed is fake. That style wasn't introduced until mid-2000.
