I don't recommend Poshmark so perhaps if @Hyacinth can see the pictures, she's willing to comment.

I do suggest you do a search of the seller ID because there's quite a history:

ETA: re your questions about the M plant, that particular plant code was a floater and although used on fakes too, it was used on US, Costa Rica and China bags. Each item needs to be evaluated for authenticity.

to @skbt

Sorry, I cant open the photos, but based just on the seller's history I'll just repeat what I posted last year:
"Good to know most of her other IDs, I've noticed one or two of those before. Why don't these chronic fakes sellers realize that pretty soon they're going to run out of places to sell and buyers who can't figure out something's fake until it's too late to get their money back?"

And the part of her description and terms that states:
"SORRY NO CANCELLATIONS NO RETURNS"
would be a MAJOR deal-breaker. Run like hell from this one.

I've never seen that exact serial number prefix stamping before. Whether it's 63m, 68M, G3M, or some other combination, it just doesn't look right and I'm not comfortable with it and can't find any genuine serial stampings that match it.

ETA - If you have the bag in your possession, can you try taking 2 or 3 photos of just the creed and serial number using different angles and maybe one of them will show me what I need to see to make some sense of that stamping?

I'm seeing the prefix as C8M and although I don't have any record with either March (C) or July (G) month codes, I do have a comparison of a fake 1998 M US plant code creed vs. an authentic 1998 M plant creed.

And based on what I see, I believe the bag being questioned is fake.

From my records fake vs authentic 1998 M US plant comp:

And the creed from the bag in question compared to the authentic creed.

Thanks, BeenBurned. There were a TON of fake serials with M plant codes and 1998 year codes. I hope the poster can get a clear photo. The font and spacing on this one matches the known fakes a lot more closely than it matches the genuine examples.

It is a puzzlement, as a certain King liked to say.

ETA- @BeenBurned
I have both a B and a C example that are apparently genuine, but the spacing of the prefixes don't match the bag in question, and neither does the shape of the 9s. (The creed in the second one looks different than the first but I think the photo's been "squeezed". All the other tiny creed details match exactly.)

I've never found a 1998 M-plant prefix more recent than "C" that I felt was genuine.

I've found one made in May 1998. CYE.

Thank you! And the creed details match the B and C month code creeds above perfectly. The double-spaced hyphen in "glove - tanned" is unusual and maybe even unique to that one specific plant's creed but I've never really looked for it before. I'm sure someone will let me know if there are others. :giggle:

May I copy it for my files?
