Hello again Authenticators! After discovering one of my coach bags was fake after your assessment yesterday, it got me questioning everything! So I dug this messenger bag out. Is it another fake? Thank you!

Authentic Patricia's legacy made in 2002.

I think this one is fine too.
Thank you for confirming that!

Just one more thing so that I know for future reference: are these dust bags that arrived with the purses ok? The stitching in spots confused me and they don't feel exactly the same. The horse and carriage logos also look a bit different. Is it normal to have uneven stitching in the dust bags?

Both purses I bought were made in Vietnam but one dust bag shows made in China and the other in Vietnam. The made in China one feels slightly softer to the touch and has better stitching. Is it ok that the dust bags were made in different countries but the bags in the same one?

Again, thank you for all of your help.

Dust bags can be difficult to authenticate, both because they're pretty easy to fake as well as that they aren't made with the same care and craftsmanship that bags would have. As far as I can tell, your dust bags appear to be fine. Many of the fakes I've seen are so obvious that you wouldn't even want to use them as TP! Usually, the font and/or logo is incorrect and the material isn't any that Coach would use.

Thank you for that info! So it's normal that the two dust bags are slightly different from each other?

Which Metropolis Bags are you comparing it to? Please post photos of them especially pics of the creeds and serial numbers. There's more than one Metropolis style. We can't comment on why one bag looks different from another without photos of both.

Piping can take color differently than leather used for the body of the bag (we've mentioned that often), and the bag may have been re-dyed.

And no, they don't make different versions of the same style for different markets except for maybe differences in color and type of leather.

Thank you Hyacinth, I was not aware of the fact that there were more than one style of Metropolis with the same model number. Mine are these (posted to another thread):

The following were authenticated here:
and here are the pictures of the the beige and black creeds:
Beige 9087.jpgBlack 9087.jpg
They all have the domed top profile and downward curved outer pocket. And they are the same size as well. If you need more pictures, please let me know. Thanks for all your help ! I have had the beige and the black for many years.

ETA - I just see that the one I asked about was also made in the same factory as mine, but the straight-looking slip pocket threw me off.

Sometimes it is just the angle of the photo or how the purse is leaning that makes it look different. The bag you asked about is authentic.

In my opinion, it doesn't look like it was never used. Doesn't it look like a lot of the color has worn off? I think it was probably originally bone.

I didn't say that there were 2 different styles of Metropolis with the same style number. There was a Metropolis ZIP 9087 and a Metropolis FLAP 9022.

Coach sometimes made small changes to a bag that didn't affect the basic details, like they did with the under-flap pocket on the Court Bag or the many changes in strap lengths. I don't see'any problems.
