The bag is genuine.

The style itself is a Legacy Small Pocket Zip from 2003.

I don't know if the Cavalino Rampante is painted on or some kind of decal or other temporary add-on, but it was NOT done by Coach. To the best of my knowledge Coach has never had any collaborations with Ferrari (who would be much more likely to go to an Italian company if they wanted a temporary partner) and doesn't really add any value to the bag unless it's by a recognised artist and sold to one of the tifosi, and even that is debatable. I can't find anything in the listing where the seller discloses the modification either.

There's also a bit of a gray area in that the Prancing Horse emblem has been a recognised Ferrari S.P.A. trademark since the late 1920s and if memory serves was the personal emblem of a famous Italian pilot in World War One who gifted the use of it, (apparently it was painted on all his planes and was his family crest or part of it?) to Enzo Ferrari as a good luck symbol back in the very early days of Ferrari's race team. So depending on how ferociously Ferrari's subsequent owners have been in protecting their trademarks, it may even still be protected by copyright and trademark laws. Not that the current owners would care, but just thought I'd mention it.

ETA - here's the logo on the bag and the cavalino rampante emblem from an F430 steering wheel:

Thank you for the information! I seen your original comment, Im kinda sad that the horse aka Cavallino Rampante isnt authentic to the bag If you didnt say that, I would have thought it was originally on the bag. When I asked the seller about it they said it was, so I appreciate your brutal honesty! Kinda sad, but again I appreciate it, thank you hun!

I tweaked my original comments since I wasn't sure if the emblem was painted on or was some kind of solid material or even a decal. Painted seems more likely, it's hard to tell from the photos. But it definitely didn't come that way from the factory or I'm sure we would have seen one before this. It's actually a very good copy of the cavalino, just very slight differences in the mane and tail.

Good day Authenticators,

This seems like a great purchase if the bag is indeed an authentic vintage Carrier bag. So, is it authentic? Seller listed it as a Musette which seems a common mistake since the Musette and Carrier look similar even though the latter is slightly bigger and has a back slip pocket. The Musette appears to be the most desired and typically fetches a high selling price but I think the Carrier deserves its own value! :)

Thanks for checking and further educating us in authenticating bags out there!

It's a genuine Carrier Bag from the late 1980s. The seller'photos aren't much help but I can just see a tiny bit of the inside pocket zipper in the creed photo which confirms that it's the style 9800 Carrier Bag, not the Musette as the seller claims. Whether the inside pocket is open or zipped is still the best way to tell the difference.

Thank you kindly, Hyacinth. The zipped inside pocket is indeed a great indicator to quickly tell the difference between the Musette and Carrier!

I'm 100% certain it's fake.

Be very careful when shopping on Carousell because there are more fakes than authentic items.

Also include a link to listings and seller ID in requests. If this seller has other listings, AVOID! (The link you posted isn't working for me so I can't see the listing.)

Would you please authenticate this Daypack I purchased at the estate sale?
9" x 11" x 5"
Thank you

Hi. Can you authenticate this bag please? I think this serial number has been used in fakes before? Thank you!
Ebay item # 334508218184
Seller mondragonfly

It looks good to me, made in 1998.

Keep in mind that when figuring out if a serial number is genuine, the FONT used for the number is just as important as the number itself. Both need to be correct for the item they're in. This one has the correct font as well as the correct codes in the number. All the bag's other details are also correct.

There ARE some serial numbers that are always fake, they're listed in the Daria48 Fake Coach Numbers List that starts here under Always Fake:
