The seller was able to share an image. Thanks again for looking!

Edit: The seller shared that the previously attached picture was of another bag that they're trying to solve. Here's the correct one.

Thank you.

The NEW photo is of the correct style, and it's a genuine Pocket Purse made in 1994

Thanks! It's nice to go away but it's nice to be back. I'm still on British time but might stay up really late tonight to get into my own time zone!

Remember, Monday is Rachel Day, chatting with a group of friends. Catch up on the day at 12AM your time.

Hope you told The Queen that I said Hello! :giggle:

Dear Authenticators,
I would love to know your thoughts on this one please:

Item: 9960 white small daypack
Seller and site where listed: Poshmark, jsr9230

Comments: The dreaded M plant! All the details to me look authentic - except the presence of a light coat of edge paint on the strap but I can completely see that being part of the design since it is such a light color. And yet...the M plant code has me wondering.
Thank you so much.

Remember, the "M" plant code isn't a problem. It's a temporary plant code that requires some extra care when authenticating. It can cause confusion because there's really no single set-in-stone font or serial format although there are several ones in our files that we accept as genuine. But it's definitely a code that needs a close look.

So, having looked closely, I don't see any problems. Genuine Daypack made in 1996.

Would you please authenticate this bag I purchased at the estate sale? I purchased a glove tanned matching red strap to go with it. It's about 10" x 9.5" x 3"
Thanks

Is anyone able to assist me with authenticating this Rogue I recently and rather rashly bought off eBay? The seller had zero feedback and has been acting really strange since the purchase. Nothing on the bag seems too off, but I’ve never owned a Rogue and don’t have any familiarity with them. Please let me know if any further pictures would help, thank you!

I'm sorry, but it's fake. The difference in colors between the strap grommets and the strap buckles can be a problem, but the most serious and undeniable proof that the bag is fake is that the font used for the serial number is NOT correct for the year and plant indicated by the production codes in the serial number. The shapes of the letters and numbers is wrong, the genuine D plant serial has some digits that are slightly squared off on the tops and bottoms. The underscore in "No" is also too long in the fake.

Most creed and serial number stamps, which were 2 separate stamps, during the period between about 1990 to the early 2000s when production was being transferred to China and that were assigned to permanent plants had individual characteristics unique to each stamp. The fonts used in the C and D plant serial number stamps are as recognisable to most experienced authenticators as the Coca-Cola logo.

The "SOLID BRASS" stamp on the buckles is another big problem, Coach hasn't used solid brass buckles on their bags since about 1991. Those buckles have been found on numerous fakes, but not on ANY genuine bags from the time period indicated by the production codes (September 1996).

Here's the creed and serial in the fake:

and the serial number in a genuine Coach with the same production and date codes as the fake. (The small lines ABOVE the numbers occur in some genuine bags from that time period, June 1996)

Insist on a full refund, including shipping if the seller wants it back. They shouldn't even ask since the bag is counterfeit and can't be sold in the US or the UK.
This is amazing, your knowledge is incredible. I asked for a cancellation and it was cancelled. Thank goodness because it would have been coming from the US to the UK and I would have been stuck

It's good to hear that the seller cancelled the transaction. I hope she does the right thing and destroys the bag as well.

Hi! I’m just wondering if you can authenticate this bag that my dad bought from his friend. It’s not listed online. It’s a kleo top handle block in signature canvas CA427. The seam says it’s made in vietnam. It looks really authentic as I observed every piece it has but I guess the color of the snake kind of skin puts me off

Good morning! Can this be authenticated, please? I’ve seen some fakes pop up in this forum for #9166, but also haven’t seen many of these on tPF in general so I’m (clearly) hoping this is the real deal. Thanks!

Please see the yellow highlighted post (from Vlad) at the top of each page for the information we need. It applies to all items, whether current (active) listings or completed and received by you, the buyer.

I don't see any problems.

Note that the "snakeskin" is not real reptile but is leather embossed and colored to look like snakeskin.
