Hello Everyone! Please forgive me if I’m not doing this correctly, I’m completely new to forums and threads! I stumbled upon this site and have discovered a ton of info, thanks to all of you! I’m a Coach lover, vintage bags are my favorites! Most of my bags have either been gifts or passed down within my family, I do also thrift, especially the older ones. I have a handful, 3-4, that I just can’t find any info on, believe me I have searched! I think this is the best place to inquire, I have read the requirements for posting on the very 1st page, I’m going to give it a shot with this gorgeous soft sided full flap, double buckle top handle, crossbody briefcase…whew, that was a lot! Can anyone provide me with any information, style name, year made and it’s authenticity? Thank you all in advance, please let me know if I have posted correctly.
Marie

@JJK250 I was thinking about your mystery bag "the long, floppy clutch" so I asked a vintage coach fan named Matthew on another forum if he had ever seen one like it, because he has a very extensive collection of Coach small leather goods and vintage Coach men's accessories.

He found the picture below online and suggested that your bag might be the same, does it look like your bag? The typed notation calls it an "Envelope Clutch" but I am unsure about the style number of 9550 that's listed -because that is the same number used for a Soho Flap Satchel. However, I know that Coach has done a few odd things with style numbers over the years a few times!

@Hyacinth, are you familiar with a vintage bag called the Envelope Clutch?

Maybe, the length and width are the same. But my long floppy “clutch” doesn’t have any place to attach a hang tag. And it lays very flat. There is no way for it to stand on its own. I’m holding it up. The bottom is as thin as the top. 01B16F04-F2BC-43FD-8EA6-398C26143357.jpeg

Hello Authenticators,

Please tell me if this one is authentic, I know its not vintage, and it needs repair, but if its not real, I'm not gonna waste time repairing.

Item: Coach Gigi purse flawed
Where purchased or how obtained: Mercari
Comments:

Thank you so much!

Forgot to put in measurements: 12 x 15 x 3 approximately (with bag flattened)

I have no excuse for this authentication. I would, however, direct all interested parties to look at the condition of this bag.

Vintage Crescent Bag

Seller: fabulousfloral

Item: 374130734448

No rush. Thank you all.

ETA: Just saw the seller's history. Ugh.
It's NOT from the 1970s. The creed wording and serial number put it somewhere between 1988 and 1992. It's recent enough that the buckles are PLATED, not solid brass, and the plating is already chipping off at lest one of them, note the close-up of one of the buckles. The creed stamp looks genuine, but I'd personally avoid that seller just on principle. Your Mileage May Vary.

And using Cashin's name in a listing posted at least 14 years AFTER she parted company with Coach is borderline deceptive in my book, JMO.
Although @Roro commented on fabulousfloral's history, I want to point out one of the reasons why we insist of seller IDs when making requests and when posting HOS fakes. All buyers should search the forum and/or google for the sellers' IDs.

Or this one:
Item: Swagger 27
Listing number: 314020424674
Seller and site where listed: kyounokura-japan /ebay

Checking back for an opinion on this bag please
I'm glad you bumped the post because I didn't go back a dozen pages to find old posts that hadn't been answered.

Although I believe the bag to be okay, I strongly recommend caution when considering doing business with kyounokura-japan as well as any other Japanese sellers. Their listings of fakes (and relisting after removals) are a real problem.

Authentic, made in 1995.

The bag is authentic but the round snaphead charm is fake. (The bag originally came with a leather hangtag.)

ETA: For future requests, please be sure to include seller ID and link to the listing. (The rules apply to completed/sold/received listings too.)

Thank you so much! Well, since I did it correctly, I think I will post more tomorrow. Is there a limit I can inquire about on the same day?
No, there's no limit but please try to limit the number of different bags per post to 3. Otherwise, it can be confusing if you post several similarly styled or colored bags in one post because we can't be sure which pictures are for which bag.

BeenBurned can add her preferences, but limiting it to maybe 4 posts a day in the beginning probably is best, until you're familiar with the information, photos and details that we need. And please make a separate post for each item, it's too easy for photos to get mixed up. Please be sure to include a clear, readable photo of the creed stamp or patch and the serial number in your posts, my computer sometimes has problems opening the photos on some sites. Newer styles may need photos of other small details like tags from inside the bags

Every page in this thread has a list of what is required at the top of each page in the READ ME post.

ETA - Just to add to what BeenBurned said - if you put photos of more than one bag in each post, please try to not to use photos of bags that are all the same color.

You'll have to wait until one of our authenticators who is familiar with newer styles gets back from their vacations. Meanwhile, when it's convenient, please include copies of the tags and paperwork from Coach's Reloved department, and also look carefully for a small white tag that's probably at the very bottom of one of the inside pockets that includes 2 lines of letters and numbers showing the production codes and try to take a readable photo of the tag and include it in your reply. Thank you.

Thank you I uploaded the pictures. Unfortunately there were no tags inside the purse other than the made in tag.

I received this bag from a FLYP client in a consignment lot. I usually avoid selling coach due to risks to my selling accounts. Please let me know if this bag is possibly genuine 20220615_062302.jpg
