"This is a good leather bag". Well then, if they say so. The comments on this Korean bag are amusing.

Yep, and that's not the worst we've seen.

Thanks! Another question, this bag is listed as a Spectator Roll Bag but I think that's incorrect, it should just be called a Roll Bag, right? I know that Coach once made a Spectator bag that was a solid color, but this isn't it.

Correct.

Good morning!
Was hoping to get some help authenticating this bag. I’ve bought from this seller before. I was just curious if the “09966” style number, as I’ve only seen it as “9966”. I am very new to vintage coach.

style: Legacy zip
Location: Etsy/ Feelsfreeboutique

I have included the link for the listing which includes all pictures.
thank you so much for all your help, I really appreciate it!

First, the seller isn't correct when she calls it "vintage" which is defined as an item 20 years old or older. This one was made in 2011. It's genuine but it's NOT a vintage Coach and won't have the same leather.

The extra number in the style number was added because starting in the Summer of 2006, Coach began changing their stamping mechanisms to work with the new 5-digit style numbers that they had started to use in 2005. The mechanisms REQUIRED a 5-digit number so a zero was added. This is covered in the Salearea Guides, which have their own thread here:

Dear Authenticators, is this Courier authentic? I fear I've bought a fake

Item:Coach Courier Pouch 8920
Listing number:234578056645
Seller and site where listed: Ebay
Link:https://www.ebay.com/itm/234578056645
Comments: Just received it today. the leather feels lighter and stiffer than any of my early NYC bags. I don't have anything earlier than the 80's but they feel very different to this bag.

The only proof we have is the metal Coach plaque. If that's been changed or taken off a genuine bag and put in a counterfeit we have no way to tell.

Not all leather is the same thickness or has the same characteristics, it depends on the source of the leather, how it was processed, and what products were used to care for it.

Thank you Hyacinth. It's encouraging at least that you aren't seeing any major visible flags.

There's still nothing on it that I can find. A few details make me sure it was at least made with Coach parts, but probably as a sample. Samples can't be authenticated since there's no record of the style in Coach's online or catalog records so we strongly suggest that they never be sold since they can't be authenticated. Just use it and enjoy it.
Wow, this really fascinating! Thanks so much for the thorough review!! It feels like really nice, quality leather which is what led me to think it was real. Thanks again!!

@Jett Adkins

I’ve asked for better pics of the turn lock pieces, but what do y’all think from these photos? I also asked about the difference in the creed numbers between listing and photo.

Can y'all please take a look at this item from GW? The rivets (not sure if that is what they are called) on the strap are black. I've only seen them in brass or nickel. The pics of the creed are rubbish and the COA is no better. Is uses the same creed photo. Is this another case of AI just making things up?

Good morning

I’ve been looking for a 0516 waist pack and found 2 versions of it. One with webbing/leather strap and one all leather. Is the one with all leather authentic? I seldom see that since most of the ones I saw were webbing/leather strap combination.
