Comments: I almost bought this bag, then chose the same style/vintage on ebay. However, I'd still like to know if it's authentic. I gather that this bag is super rare.

Comments: Please and thank you for taking a look. If authentic, this will be my most vintage Coach bag. Yay!! 1960's? Official name? It's got the Coach metal tag behind the kisslock.

Probably genuine, see my reply just above this one.

Hello,

Please authenticate this Coach bag. If known could tell me the official color of this bag. When I purchased it, I thought it was red. After dunking, it shows as a burgundy plum color. Item: Coach Slim Satchel Compact 9425
Where purchased: Local Goodwill store

Genuine, the measurements you gave don't exactly match either size in the early 1980s catalogs so I'll let you decide. Keep enlarging the thumbnail until you can read the measurements, or check the early catalogs in the Vintage Catalogs scans thread in the Coach Reference forum.

The only burgundy color back then was just called Burgundy.

Thank you. Mine is the smaller of the two and the measurements of 12 7 2 come closest to my bag. I appreciate the catalog copy.

Hello, again! Looking at this one and asked for a pic of the creed, what do y’all think?

Comment: 1996, correct? What color could this be for that release year?

Genuine Sonoma Medium Bucket Zip Natural Grain from 1996, the color looks like Parchment.

Thanks heaps whateve! I thought I couldn’t find the seller’s name then realized it really was “me”! LOL.

Hello again whateve or the other Authenticators. Pls bear with me for revisiting my post regarding the vintage City Spectator bag from seller “Me”. I just received the bag but was disappointed that it turned out smaller than the dimensions the seller provided (about 11x7x3.25). It really is only about 9x5.5x2. This can’t be a City bag then, right? Or was there ever a “City Mini” in the spectator design? Or did the mini version of the City bag have a different name?

Both are authentic. I wish I had thought to take the name "me"!

With those updated measurements I think it's a Compartment Bag Spectator 6850 since the underflap pocket is gusseted. The City Bag only came in one size. Apparently the seller didn't actually measure the bag, she just assumed it was a City Bag and copied Coach's posted measurements.

Thank you very much for your thorough research and for sharing the vintage ad photo! It’s clear “Me” thought the bag is the same as this larger Spectator sold by seller “bcarian”.
