Item: Pre-Creed Courier Pouch 8920? (Black or Navy)
Where purchased: Goodwill $20
Dimensions: Approximately 10 x 9 x 4.5 inches

Comments: Please offer an opinion about the authenticity of this vintage Courier bag, thank you.

I know that the Couriers came in 2 sizes but I am having trouble measuring the bag because it is squashed, what were the dimensions of the smaller Courier? Are there any other characteristics to distinguish between the large and small couriers?

Do you know approximately what years the pre-creed Couriers would have been made? Thanks again!

This is a genuine Madison Copley made in 1995.

Thank you so much for the detailed response as always, Hyacinth!
Yeah... I don't think I will know how to restore the rubbed off caviar leather, you make good points about the problem areas.
After googling, the Madisons are so gorgeous, I'm hoping to find another Madison Copley one day!

Do you by chance know what colour this Madison Copley is in? Thank you!

The Madisons were expensive when new and pre-owned ones don't come on the market nearly as often as the much more common classic leather styles like Willises and the more familiar "soft" leather styles so they can probably be considered rare. Please note the description and the photos showing the problem areas. These Madison styles aren't nearly as easy to rehab as the standard Coach leathers.

This is a genuine Madison Copley made in 1995.

I don't know what they mean about rubbing off the caviar leather during rehabbing and I've restored a several vintage italian Coach Madison bags including a Copley. It is possible to rub off the brushed pattern on the hardware by over-polishing, maybe that's what the seller means? I'd ask for more information.

Here is a picture of the Madison colors offered for the 1995 Holiday season, they made other colors also - including a light yellow called "Butter.". There is a Granite color that is difficult to photograph, sometimes it looks gray and sometimes it looks light brown. That copley bag might be granite and that would be very rare.

I'm also wondering if the bag you listed could be the "Mandarin"? I've never seen any of the mandarin bags, wow!

I almost fainted when I saw it at the Goodwill for $20; it's missing the hangtag and it has some condition issues, but I was still blown away! Can you help me figure out which size Courier this is? It's my first experience with a Courier, thanks!

No, it's hard to tell from the photos. Coach changed many of the Madison colors every year, and usually not at the beginning of the year either. And the way a color shows on a computer can be very different how it looks in real life and even in different lighting. I don't get involved in figuring out colors, there are just too many variables.

Please read the READ ME post at the top of each page and include the requested information, including the URL of the listing and the seller's name. If the listing includes the same photos you posted, you wouldn't have had to re-post them.

We've had problems with Poshmark's policies and with a number of Poshmark sellers and two of us either will NOT authenticate items by Poshmark sellers at all, or won't authenticate unless all of the required information is included.

Thank you.
It's authentic.

@Hyacinth the link is buried in with the pictures. It is on India's version of Posh.
Seller bounipann
I wonder whether bounipann has more than one of the same bag. You might want to verify.

She has 2 listings with different prices but what appear to be the same item.

Wow, thank you so much for the help! I was looking around purse forum and I have to say, your restoration of a Coppey looked legendary haha.

Yeah, I can't really match it to any colour with confidence. I will ask the seller for more information, thank you!

@whateve is probably the best person to answer your questions, I don't have any real experience with pre-creed bags OR with any Rehab questions, especially about colors. She has the most experience in those areas..
