This has been on Poshmark, I'm not sure of the style name

Sorry, it's fake. The serial number is totally wrong for the style and type of leather, in fact the entire number is invalid.

The seller is also making what I believe are bogus claims that "this bag goes back to 87 it has been check out by coach." Bad enough to be selling a fake even after being warned more than once that it was a fake, but claiming that anyone at Coach "checked it out" REALLY gets on me wick.

Seller " loisa60 " also sold this fake:

ETA - AND this fake wristlet:

AND a fabric "Hamptons Patchwork Pouch" supposedly from 2004 with a "U" plant code that claims to have been made in the USA out of "completely natural glove-tanned cowhide". "U" has never been a US plant code either.

I think I've seen enough.

As I've made it pretty clear, I don't authenticate or recommend Poshmark listings or sellers because there's just so much lack of integrity among both users and the site itself.

But I do comment and many of my comments on the site, listings and sellers show why I have the negative opinion I do.

And seller goochk is one such example.

Although Hyacinth commented on the listing you purchased, I'm pointing out sales of fakes by goochk.

Sold for $110: https://poshmark.ca/listing/Vintage-Coach-crossbody-5e56deb52e7c2f1c6adc0bab
Sold for $30: https://poshmark.ca/listing/Vintage-Coach-crossbody-purse-5e4ac93721cd0a1dba5dfa1f

How can you trust a seller who doesn't take the time to verify the authenticity (and legality) of her items?

Thank you for taking the time for me as well. I was worried it could be fake, as I was really unaware of what to be looking for and I understand why you would not attempt to authenticate poshmark finds. Hopefully this bag is authentic, I'm still waiting on shipping as I can return it if she has misrepresented the sale. There still appears to be differences in quality of the bag vs the fake ones posted, but I have yet to hold it and see it for myself. Please wish me luck! this whole forum has been a wonderfully eye-opening experience. Where would you recommend one turn to for authentic vintage coach bags?

I feel even more strongly than @Hyacinth about both the seller caecae09 and Poshmark. I not only don't recommend the Willis but I don't recommend caecae09.

As Hyacinth pointed out, the creed in the "Willis" listing probably doesn't belong to that bag.

Other listings for different bags have the same creed picture shown in them. (There are 2 listings of each of 2 bags, all with the same creed picture:
and
and
and

And she also has other bags that are fake:

Seller doesn't have a clue. This bag is described as being made in 1970. Although authentic, it was made in 2001 NOT 1970!

Don't buy from caecae09.
Thank you Hyacinth and BeenBurned. I had actually already purchased the bag my first question referred to, but had yet to receive it. I haven’t asked the seller for additional pictures since it is already in transit. I’ll post a follow up pictures as soon as I get it and submit a request to return it from Poshmark. It has always been my fear when buying anything secondhand online, and this was my first from Poshmark, that it wouldn’t be genuine. Big picture however is my irritation that a seller who repeatedly sells fake items is allowed to continue selling on the site. Not only does it violate Poshmark’s rules but federal law. Is it common for this sort of selling to occur repeatedly from the same seller?

On Poshmark it's VERY common because Posh doesn't CARE about US laws even though they're based in the US. Sellers of fakes are a large part of their seller base because they KNOW they can get away with selling fakes on Posh because Posh doesn't CARE. Sellers who have had fakes removed or can't be bothered to authenticate their items or even been suspended or banned from other selling sites know that Poshmark is a safe haven for them and they are a strong source of income for Posh. See post 72139.

Hello! I need some more help identifying/authenticating bags, please.

4. Item: Vintage Coach Stewardess Bag #9525 Black Natural Glove-Tanned Leather (name?)
Listing: 142463441
Seller and site where listed: Goodwill of Southwestern Pennsylvania, Shopgoodwill.com
Link: https://shopgoodwill.com/item/142463441

Thank you so much for your time and expertise!
I've numbered your items to make it simpler.

4- The creed and serial number are completely unreadable and it can't be authenticated. The wrinkles on the outside of the base are also cause for concern.
I can see the creed and the bag is fake. Serial number is J8Y-9525.

Can you please tell me if this bag is authentic? I would really appreciate it. Thanks so much in advance.

A client was given this bag by her daughter who has since passed away. Measurements: 18" across the top, 14" across the bottom, 10" height, 5" side (bottom).
