It's genuine and according to the seller's measurements is a Museum Bag, style 4127 from the 1993 Manhattan Series. However, I wonder if the strap has been slightly modified. It appears longer in the photos than it does in the catalog photo from the Fall 1993 catalog. It's unusual to see a strap that may have been made longer, most of the time straps on older Coaches would be shortened when the style changed from the long strap where the bag hung straight down to the hip to the shorter strap where the bag was carried higher up. I can't see any evidence of any cutting or re-stitching so maybe it came from the factory like that. The bag in the photos is definitely genuine, and was made in or around 1993.

It would be interesting to actually use a tape measure to get the exact length end-to-end, the catalog says it's 41 inches which I assume is on the longest setting and equivalent to about a 20-inch drop. Maybe a previous owner wanted to wear it cross-body and the strap was a bit too short. Compare the "short" part of the strap in the seller's photo of the bag hanging from a metal wall, the side with the buckle, to the catalog photo, the buckle is closer to the top point of the strap in the seller's photo. I'm probably just over-thinking things again but since I wear almost all my bags cross-body I tend to pay closer attention to strap lengths. Click on the thumbnails to enlarge.

Thank you for your generous help! But just one concern, museum bag has one center zip compartment according to the description from the catalog, this one seems not.

THIS is why we ask for measurements. Coach has made a lot of very similar bags where the only obvious differences are the measurements.

There's a smaller twin to the Museum Bag, since you seem to have the bag in your possession I'm going to ask you to measure your bag to see if THIS one matches, the seller was apparently slightly off on his or her measurements. This is the 4125 Bistro Bag from the same line and it does have a longer strap, that and the smaller size would explain why the strap looks a bit longer in the listing photos than in the catalog - click the thumbnail to enlarge:

BTW, I'm never sure exactly HOW Coach measured their bags. It was never explained in the catalogs. The most accurate measurement for this one because of the tapered shape is probably going to be the front to back depth measured at the base.

What did you do, Did you pay an authenticator? Yes you are right. They just message me and i’m trying to show them the conversations, i dont know if they will believe me. I already sent an message to the seller and it looks like she is aware its not authentic. They very first time, i asked her if the bag is authentic she said “yes”. And today i asked her if she can confirm to me where she purchased it. She said its her mom’s bag and she doesnt know if authentic. She mislead me.
I used a site called authenticate4U that @BeenBurned recommended. They were cheap and quick and sent a certificate for me to show Mercari. I’m sorry you’re experiencing this and I hope you get a refund!

Sorry, it's fake. The serial number is invalid and is also on the Daria48 Fake Coach Numbers List posted here at tPF right after the six Salearea Coach Guides.

Since you want to learn how to avoid selling fakes (the BEST way is to have all of them authenticated here before buying or selling) you'll find a LOT of information in the thread in the link below. Take some time to read it, and then read it again once every few months just to refresh your memory. The first 13 posts have some dead links so don't worry if they don't work, Ebay deleted all the user-written Guides 5 years ago. It's best to read the entire thread.

By the way, my comments about Dale-Dave were in NO way a dig at you. We - meaning me and other members here, several of whom are Poshmark sellers and WERE members of Dale-Dave's Facebook sites - have been stalked by a Certain Supposedly Banned Posh Member for several years now. Posh banned him 2 months ago and now he's snuck back in under an ID that his daughter in Ohio may have set up 6 years ago. It's at least the 3rd time he's been banned from a site and used his daughter's ID to get back in. Notice that MissAcadia doesn't have anything to sell so heaven only knows how long that ID has been inactive.

He's also causing havoc right now at Ebay's forums (from which he was also permanently Banned in November 2020 but he's posting through at least half a dozen of his Facebook members' Ebay Forums IDs).

I don't know what Posh's Rules are about Banned members using phony IDs to get back on the site, I may have to ask.

But yes, as I said, your "Patricia's Legacy" is counterfeit. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but Dale-Dave has already secretly Flagged your listing using several different codes to let his Followers know NOT to buy it. That's one of the reasons he was banned from Poshmark.

Hope it's not too late to say "Welcome to tPF". And please be careful posting, we have no problem at all with sellers asking for authentication, but tPF Rules don't allow sellers to post links to their own listings. You can post photos but not direct links.

Let me know if there's any other information that you need. Is it too late to get your money back for that bag?
