Dear authenticators

my sister is looking to sell another one of her coach given to her by a friend.
I wasn’t sure if it’s authentic since the wording between coach and the word bag was kinda far apart. Not sure if I’m being paranoid.

style: ergo 9033
Size: aprox 12.5” W x 9” H x 3” D

Its from mercari.
She said its authentic but i doubt. Now i dont know if i can get my money back
I just went through this with Mercari and if you’ve rated the seller already you can get your money back only if 1. It’s a stolen item 2. It’s fake. It’s under the ‘problem with an item I’ve rated’ or something along those lines. They’ll make you get a 3rd party authentication, which you’re not reimbursed for, and then give you a refund.

Hello authenticators!

New Coachie here. Recently rediscovered vintage Coach bags and fell love with a NYC crescent saddle bag which snowballed into purchasing three more bags. Since my first purchase, I've done some research and found out even vintage Coach bags are counterfeit, which has left me feeling nervous about my hasty purchases. Hoping you'd be kind enough to take a look at and authenticate the below enclosed bags. Thank you so so much for your time and assistance, truly appreciate it!

1- genuine, from the late 1970s thru the early to mid 1990s

2- genuine Megan Bag, style 9921 from around 1992-93.

3- genuine Geometric Clutch, 1997

4- genuine, from 1995

You are correct, the inside creed patch has several problems including "run-together words" which are a group of words with no physical spaces between them, see the third line in the creed. There are also other mistakes in punctuation that you should never find in a genuine Coach creed. The lining doesn't look right either.

There is also a sentence in the creed that makes no sense at all, in English or any other language:
"ATTENTION TO DERNLRFELELT", then "O U RCOMMITMENTTO ENDURING QUALITY"
WHAT is that supposed to mean?

We need the information listed in the "IMPORTANT - READ ME" post at the top of each page. Have you already bought the bag? If you haven't, DO NOT BUY IT. If you bought it, demand a full refund NOW.

We need the URL of the selling site and page where it's listed. And we need the name of the actual seller.

Thank you very much!

I've bought it yesterday for a very small price from a private person on an auction listed on Vinted.
After that, I've asked her about more pictures, and she said she didn't know that this brand is so pricey. After I got the pictures, I noticed that the bag can be fake. I already have spoken with her about it, she said she didn't knew about it (and I believe her). I'm going to cancel this purchase, and she's okay with it, she hasn't sent it yet. I can get full refund.

Once again, thank you for your help, I'm really happy I've found this forum.

What did you do, Did you pay an authenticator? Yes you are right. They just message me and i’m trying to show them the conversations, i dont know if they will believe me. I already sent an message to the seller and it looks like she is aware its not authentic. They very first time, i asked her if the bag is authentic she said “yes”. And today i asked her if she can confirm to me where she purchased it. She said its her mom’s bag and she doesnt know if authentic. She mislead me.

It's genuine and according to the seller's measurements is a Museum Bag, style 4127 from the 1993 Manhattan Series. However, I wonder if the strap has been slightly modified. It appears longer in the photos than it does in the catalog photo from the Fall 1993 catalog. It's unusual to see a strap that may have been made longer, most of the time straps on older Coaches would be shortened when the style changed from the long strap where the bag hung straight down to the hip to the shorter strap where the bag was carried higher up. I can't see any evidence of any cutting or re-stitching so maybe it came from the factory like that. The bag in the photos is definitely genuine, and was made in or around 1993.

It would be interesting to actually use a tape measure to get the exact length end-to-end, the catalog says it's 41 inches which I assume is on the longest setting and equivalent to about a 20-inch drop. Maybe a previous owner wanted to wear it cross-body and the strap was a bit too short. Compare the "short" part of the strap in the seller's photo of the bag hanging from a metal wall, the side with the buckle, to the catalog photo, the buckle is closer to the top point of the strap in the seller's photo. I'm probably just over-thinking things again but since I wear almost all my bags cross-body I tend to pay closer attention to strap lengths. Click on the thumbnails to enlarge.
