Hi! I just saw your question and wanted to offer some advice.. The bag you bought is the the larger Courier and the strap width you need to find is 1.25 inches. That width for those crossbody straps can be found on Janices' #9966. The length you want to find is between 42-46" long. Couriers have become my favorite vintage bag hands down! I loooove them! Congrats on your new purchase!

I have three Couriers, two small and one large. I've managed to find crossbody straps for all. Finding these straps is a needle in a haystack - especially color wise. But don't be afraid to mix and match or thinking outside of the box. For example, my small courier is a two toned putty and what I *think* is tabac. I found a #9112 bag for super cheap and integrated that. I did have to dye the strap just a tad to get the colors right because I am neurotic about matching! I finally found a putty colored crossbody from a 2003 #9136 that I like much better. It's currently in transit so I don't have a pic yet.. For my mocha Courier, I'm using the strap from a #9816. Examples pictures below....

Long story short.. A little research and measuring and you can find what you're looking for.. Be aware of the strap width and color! It's a hunt for sure but very possible! Good luck!

Ohmygosh!!!! Thank you so much!! I’m
sooo glad you saw my post. Thanks so much for the advise. This is such a time saver for me. You got it figured out! I love your two tone bag so much I don’t know what to do with myself now!! Thank you for sharing!!

It's a genuine Helen's Legacy made in 1996.

Measurements can vary, an inch difference is nothing to worry about. And Coach hasn't said where on the bag the measurements are taken.

Leather can fray, and "brass" hardware in almost all bags made after 1990 wasn't solid brass, just plated. None of the things you're asking about affect whether or not a "Coach" is genuine.

That's terrific to hear, and thanks for the answers to my other queries as well. Much appreciated! :)

Here's the listing:

It looks fine.

In the future, it's a good idea to request necessary pictures from the seller before purchasing so if the item turns out to be fake, you don't have to deal with the hassle of disputes and returns.

Also, sellers should know that it's not helpful when they use stolen stock images since those don't help a buyer see the actual item they're going to receive. (Some sellers use stock images to sell fakes and the items buyers get are NOT even close to what's shown!)

@BeenBurned, Thank you very much for the authentication and your kind suggestion, now I am relieved that the bag is authentic.

So, it it true that 2054 code means made in Cambodia?

Hi! Dived into purchasing what I believe is a Coach Companion. It was $39. Did my due research before I purchased but now I'm second guessing myself. I read somewhere in this thread that this kind of overlap at the piping is sometimes normal for this model. Would like to know your thoughts if it's authentic.

Bought: Carousell Philippines

Good morning! I purchased this Regina bag from eBay and would like to have it authenticated. Thanks in advance for your help!

Comments: I have purchased this bag and have provided photos below. The creed is hard to read in one corner but I have done my best in taking a photo of it. The original Coach tag is missing.

Good morning and happy Sunday, dear authenticators. I have two items to inquire about and I will create two posts for them. This tag intrigues me. I'm not sure if I want to buy but I surely would like to know if it's authentic. I'm not sure what you need to see to authenticate something like this. If more photos are needed, please post what you need and I will request.

Second item: A brown Berkeley duffle bag. (surprise, right?) Quick note: I had all of the Berkeley duffles and sold them. I can be an idiot.

Also, I forgot how 'make an offer' works on Poshmark. I made the offer and she accepted it and my card was charged before I could think about requesting authentication.

Thank you in advance for all of your help and for all of the bullets you help us dodge.

Genuine and made in 2001
Hyacinth- sorry to bother you, but one more question. Is this navy or black? I need to find a replacement hang tag for it and wasn’t quite sure what color I have. Thank you!

It appears so but for more recent bags with numeric plant codes, that's not something we generally pay attention to. If it's suspected to be a close fake, we might dig deeper but with all the various countries and factories where Coach is being made, it's just impossible (and not usually that helpful) to keep track.

The pictures show an authentic bag.

By overlapped piping, if you're referring to where the ends meet, that's completely normal and done to avoid the possibility of a gap and resulting opening between the ends.

It's fine, made in 1996.

Good morning! From the same seller via eBay, I also purchased a vintage Prairie bag. Would you be able to help me authenticate it?
