Hi, all! Long-time lurker, first time poster.

I obtained what I was pretty sure was a Helen's Legacy bag at a Goodwill auction. The leather is real and nice feeling, and the bag feels lovely overall, but a few things had me questioning it. Would you mind having a look?

Further info + details I questioned:
— Bag number I6M-9953 (Obviously I is not *supposed* to be used as a month code, but I've read that some mistakes happen, and I've seen other I6M bags that were actually authenticated elsewhere, so that didn't seem totally dispositive?)
— Measurements: 12" x 7" x 10" (I have read that it should be 9", rather than 10")
—Some of the leather at the edge of the lip seems a little frayed, but I wasn't sure if that were an issue or just wear & tear
—Color of the zipper: is the brass just tarnished, or is that not brass?

Very excited to hear your thoughts, and thanks so much in advance for having a look.

It's a genuine Helen's Legacy made in 1996.

Measurements can vary, an inch difference is nothing to worry about. And Coach hasn't said where on the bag the measurements are taken.

Leather can fray, and "brass" hardware in almost all bags made after 1990 wasn't solid brass, just plated. None of the things you're asking about affect whether or not a "Coach" is genuine.

Hi! My own research says this is a Vintage Coach 1990s Gramercy Continental Clutch Wallet. Checking in with you guys to see if you concur. I found this today at the thrift store for 4 bucks. This is the crazy thrift store which pokes holes in leather objects in order to attach their price tags. The 3 fresh holes you see there on the interior, I know the store did that. Other than that it seems to be in really good condition. Inside this wallet is "Made in Italy" and both the bulls eye and the x together. (What does that mean? ) Authentico? Please and thank you for your opinion.

It's authentic. I had one and believe it's called Gramercy Continental Clutch and is from the late 90s. I don't know a style number.

Hi all. Can you assist with these please?

Seller :Bendog1000

Seller :Civilwardagger

The first one is FAKE. And that seller has some nerve! She says " Coach creed says Made in USA and stamped with J4D-4133, which I believe is not correct for a Court bag. Because of this, the price is significantly lower. "
HEY LADY! It means it's fake, it's NOT a Coach, and it isn't worth diddly-squat! And selling fakes is a felony!

The second is a genuine Jackson Bucket made around 1992-93.

EDITED TO ADD - The first one is already gone. Bye-bye!

It's authentic. I wouldn't have IDed it if it was fake.

If @whateve already ID'd it, then she also authenticated it. We don't dignify fakes with Coach names.

It's genuine, and while it may have originally been designed by Bonnie Cashin, this example was made probably at least 5 years after she and Coach ended their collaboration . There's no way to date it exactly, my guess would be 1979 to mid-1980s.

I can't answer about the strap, sorry. The best places to ask are the Vintage Coach Photos and Chat or the Rehab and Rescue threads at the main Coach forum. Look under "Coach Clubhouse".
Thank you. I loooove that thread.

Hi, I am new to this forum, but anyone please can authenticate my Coach bag?
I just bought it from ebay with the price 135 Poundsterling , a Brown Black Prairie Satchel. the seller id in Ebay is: love_mascaras123
Not sure whether the bag is authentic because from the stitching, I didn't find it perfectly stitched, like the length aren't exactly the same. The part that I suspect the most to be fake is the creed tag code which is M2054-F799998. I am not sure that 54 means Cambodia plant??

I really appreciate for whom can authenticate this bag!! Thank you

Here are some photos of the bag
Here's the listing:

It looks fine.

In the future, it's a good idea to request necessary pictures from the seller before purchasing so if the item turns out to be fake, you don't have to deal with the hassle of disputes and returns.

Also, sellers should know that it's not helpful when they use stolen stock images since those don't help a buyer see the actual item they're going to receive. (Some sellers use stock images to sell fakes and the items buyers get are NOT even close to what's shown!)

It's genuine and was made in 1996
Comment on seller, Deliciousbling: She doesn't verify her items before listing so she's a mixer.

This is a fake she's selling:

Good morning authenticators. I have a couple of questions about this bag. While I’m almost certain is authentic, however, I would also like to know what year it was made.
A side question. Does anyone have any info on having a longer strap made so I can wear this bag crossbody? I was thinking about just buying a different crossbody and change the strap but seems like too much trouble.
Thank you
Purchased on eBay

Hi! I just saw your question and wanted to offer some advice.. The bag you bought is the the larger Courier and the strap width you need to find is 1.25 inches. That width for those crossbody straps can be found on Janices' #9966 NOT the 9950 though! The length you want to find is between 42-46" long. Couriers have become my favorite vintage bag hands down! I loooove them! Congrats on your new purchase!

I have three Couriers, two small and one large. I've managed to find crossbody straps for all. Finding these straps is a needle in a haystack - especially color wise. But don't be afraid to mix and match or thinking outside of the box. For example, my small courier is a two toned putty and what I *think* is tabac. I found a #9112 bag for super cheap and integrated that. I did have to dye the strap just a tad to get the colors right because I am neurotic about matching! I finally found a putty colored crossbody from a 2003 #9136 that I like much better. It's currently in transit so I don't have a pic yet.. For my mocha Courier, I'm using the strap from a #9816. Example pictures below....

Long story short.. A little research and measuring and you can find what you're looking for.. Be aware of the strap width and color! It's a hunt for sure but very possible! Good luck!
