Please follow the following requests:
  • Before you submit a request for authentication, please search this thread to make sure that the item has not previously been authenticated by searching the seller ID and/or item number. This is not a thread to ask general questions about COACH, please refer to our main Coach forum for such information.
  • Note that authenticators have the right to refuse any requests. This is a free service, but it is imperative that you help our authenticators by using the following format:

BASIC PICTURES REQUIRED (but more may be requested): If necessary pictures are in the listing, it's not necessary to upload and duplicate them.
  • Front of item

  • Full clear and legible creed text and serial number
  • Made in tags (when available)
  • Measurements
  • For bags with turnlock closures, show pictures of back of female side of turnlock
  • For bags with magnetic snaps, show pictures of the male part of the snap so that the numbers and letters on it can be read

The bag is a bad fake.

Did you get it from an online site? Can you get a refund?

Please post the seller ID.

The seller mentioned the difference in the strap color in her description. Maybe a previous owner washed it, it shows normal wear on the edges but after almost 30 years there should be a much heavier mark showing from the buckle, like a much darker and thicker crease where it normally would have been buckled. So the strap may have been washed and scrubbed up a bit before being sold and the leather would have lightened compared to the leather sides and bottom of the bag.

It;s definitely the right strap for the bag, I can't think of any other styles besides the all-leather versions of the same Saddle Pouch that had so many buckle holes in the original strap.

It was wrong to accuse the seller of selling a fake unless you were sure. I don't think you should have both the money and the bag. You have ruined that seller's reputation, and possibly her business, on a suspicion. You should have asked for an authentication before accusing anyone.

The existence of a dustbag does not make a bag authentic. This style was made for factory stores. Most items made for factory stores and most smaller purses don't come with dustbags.

I don't see anything wrong with the bag. More opinions are welcome.
