• For bags with turnlock closures, show pictures of back of female side of turnlock

Thank you for your reply. Here's another from shopgoodwill.com. The bag looks good, the serial number looks odd. 5 numbers, a space, and then 2 numbers? The seller is the Rainier area Goodwill (my local) and I've bought several items from them all legit. What say you on the authenticity of this one? There is something special about NYC basic bags. If you get it, check the clips. Sometimes they are stamped with anchors. No significance, it just indicates the manufacturer of the hardware.

I never knew that, thanks! I just bought one of these bags made in New York recently and, yes, it has the anchor.

I wonder why it is that some shopgoodwill listings have a statement to the effect of, "this listing is posted in accordance to Goodwill's policy against the sale of counterfeit items," yet this listing states, " Items are not officially appraised, certified or authenticated unless otherwise specified."

Does Goodwill not realize that their compliance to their policy is required by law?!

Since the Madison line wasn't introduced until the 1993 Fall catalog AFAIK and the "new" serial numbers that included the style numbers started in early 1994, that narrows it down to some time between mid-1993 and very early 1994. That holds for all the bags from that Madison line that don't show the style numbers.
