There is something special about NYC basic bags. If you get it, check the clips. Sometimes they are stamped with anchors. No significance, it just indicates the manufacturer of the hardware.
I never knew that, thanks! I just bought one of these bags made in New York recently and, yes, it has the anchor.

Hi all, hope you are having a wonderful holiday. If you take a break from the merrymaking, could you please have a look at this. Obtained from Facebook marketplace. It’s approximately 3” wide at the base, and 7.7” wide and tall. As always, it’s greatly appreciated! Such shmoosy leather!

Hello,

Please authenticate this bag. I won the auction on Shopgoodwill.com. I know this bag model was manufactured in 1994 under 4401. This bag has a numbering system that per saleArea guide was earlier. I know I should have checked before bidding. I meant to but life intervenes. Here are the particulars.

Coach has never, never, NEVER made handbags, wallets or briefcases in Korea.

Salearea Guides and Daria48 Fake Numbers List:
I wonder why it is that some shopgoodwill listings have a statement to the effect of, "this listing is posted in accordance to Goodwill's policy against the sale of counterfeit items," yet this listing states, " Items are not officially appraised, certified or authenticated unless otherwise specified."

Does Goodwill not realize that their compliance to their policy is required by law?!

I bid on this bag, too. So gorgeous. Enjoy it!

Thank you so much. An addition to my Made in Italy Coach collection. Excited!!! Can you give me an estimate of when this bag was manufactured?

Since the Madison line wasn't introduced until the 1993 Fall catalog AFAIK and the "new" serial numbers that included the style numbers started in early 1994, that narrows it down to some time between mid-1993 and very early 1994. That holds for all the bags from that Madison line that don't show the style numbers.
