Genuine. Coach made this style for many years so there's no way to date it accurately, but the seller said it was bought in the late 1980s so that would make it a style 7155 Change Purse.

ETA - I'm going to add one more thing, and I'll add it in PURPLE so you don't miss it.

I've made my opinions about your "other" authenticator clear many many times, so I won't bore everyone else by going over them again, everyone here knows knows how to find my posts. I don't "back up" HIS authentications and I don't appreciate him backing up mine. The other authenticators here are free to hold their own opinions and do as they choose. But seeing things like "I was just informed by my authenticator that this bag is not legit Coach bag. So sorry. Can you please cancel the sale so we won't have to go through a return? " and " It's such a beautiful bag and I usually have him review before I purchase when he's available. I literally just got the message from him" among other posts here and on other sites, I'm stepping back from authenticating your purchases to let Dale Barnes-Dave Barnes-Dave Edwards take care of his own customers, fans and site members exclusively.

Further information can be found by searching here at the tPF forums for:

There are others including links to his daughter's accounts that he's using now but they all lead in the same direction. So I've decided to let Dale-Dave take care of his customers without any "backup" from me, and I certainly don't need OR want any backup from him. If he needs a second opinion about any items he can always ask one or both of his other selves for their opinions which, not surprisingly, will be the same as his own. So that should make all three of him very happy.

Thank you.
Hi Hyacinth, is there any misunderstanding? I don't know other authenticators or who named Dale-Dave, I only post here for suggestions before, who is that guy?? I am not his customers. Anything wrong with my post?

I purchased this Tango 9049 on eBay. It seems too uniform in color and texture, the Coach tag has shiny edges, the binding seems too thin, but most of all it has NO LEATHER SMELL I appreciate any advice before I contact the seller. The bag is authentic, made in 1999.

I'm not @Hyacinth but I'd like to comment and clarify (or request clarification).

A couple of months ago, you posted the following request, immediately followed by @whateve's authentication:

Good evening authenticators!
I am unsure with this pocket purse, Could u please have a look? Thank u so much!
Item: coach pocket purse
Link:https://posh.mk/Y0YZfPUB7jb
Seller:stylist_alexis on Poshmark
Thanks again!

The buyer of that fake bag on Poshmark canceled the purchase after telling the seller that "he" authenticated it and determined it to be fake. If you are not purple_cocoon (on Poshmark), why did you ask about the bag here two days prior to your post on the listing? Did you/the buyer not trust Whateve's answer?

Hi Beenburned, thank you for your additional info! It’s definitely a misunderstanding! I am not that purple _cocoon on Poshmark, she seems to be a professional coach seller with lots of bags but I am not. I only have 12-13 vintage coach bags right now lol. She lives in IN but I lives in PA. I am innocent lol!
The fact is that I asked about that bag cause I wanted to purchase it but it looked kind of off so I posted here for help. after whatever told me that was fake, I ended not considering it.
That is it.

I never have any other authenticators and I am always thankful for your efforts and as a new vintage lover, I learned a lot from you all. I am really confused and upset to yesterday’ reply and I hope things can be clarified.

Sorry, it's fake. The serial number isn't using the correct font for a genuine bag with the same plant, month, and year codes. There are also at least two construction details that aren't right, and if we had photos of several other details we could probably find more mistakes.

Details in creeds and serial numbers, especially the exact fonts used by each plant during a specific time period, are critical in authenticating Coach items. The site or person who told you it was genuine should never be trusted with any more Coach "authentications".

Any genuine Willis or similar Coach with a serial number starting with "J6D" should have a serial prefix with digits that look like this, although they might NOT have the same short lines right above or below the letters and numbers those "overstamping lines" are not important here. The second half of the number is the style number and even though those numbers may be different, the fonts should be the same:

GENUINE J6D serial prefixes:

and

compared to yours - the "No J6D"s are completely different, and so are the fonts

Well, miraculously Mercari ruled in my favor and issued me a refund!
