I don't trust colors shown in photos and I've said before how inaccurate colors can be, either accidentally or deliberately, when they've been run through a computer so I'm just going to say that I can't find any oranges or yellows in any of the 1997 Spring or Summer catalogs. The only colors for the Classic styles that are in the tan to yellow color range are British Tan or Lime. The bag was made in January 1997 so it seems like it would most likely be from one of those seasons. There are no yellows or oranges listed for Fall 1997 either. The bag is genuine but it's most likely to be British Tan.

While it's possible that there might have been a resort line or some leather left over from the previous year, I can't confirm from the catalog evidence that it's any kind of yellow or orange shade.

Thanks for looking into it. Was really hoping it was yellow but its just one of those hard to tell colors when its posted online. I'll compare the color once it arrives and let you know!

It's genuine, from a small line made in 1992 and 1993 called the Camden Classics. This one is a style 9913 Gilford Bag. Here's the 1992 Fall Special Edition page.
