Really? How could you tell?
Hi BB, vikach did attach the pics in the post at 12:12 am that tell that story  . . .

Problems with the hardware, the creed and the serial number. We don't like going into detail since that just helps the crooks make more accurate fakes. Let's just say that it takes a large library of text files and photos to spot one or two of the mistakes.

Sorry, the listing was removed and I don't remember what the problems were but whatever they were, it was obvious.

Sorry. I was lazy and didn't go back to the original post!
Ugh! I am so sorry. Not that it's a good excuse but I'll use it anyway!

Not only did I not go back to look at the post but I didn't realize that the pictures were only two posts up!

THat's what happens when I try to rush and respond while on my way out the door.

I'm glad Hyacinth was able to give a better answer.

Note to self: Take your time when responding.

Please help me with one more bag. It has some uneven stitching on the top handle. Not sure if it’s normal.

It’s a brown Station bag. 9x9x2

Purchased it on Poshmark.

Sorry, it's fake too. Again, problems with the hardware and creed and serial stamps, not just bad stitching.

Coach items should always be authenticated here BEFORE buying, especially items from Poshmark. They make no effort to remove fakes, their in-house "authenticators" often peg real bags as fake and fakes as real ("Poshmark Ambassadors" are especially famous for this!) and getting a refund from them for a fake can often be frustrating and time-consuming.

Hi, I won an auction for a courier bag on shopgoodwill (link below) and they cancelled the sale afterward, saying it wasn't authentic. I'm so bummed. The only thing I thought was maybe off was the zipper and I can't see any brass grommets on the strap. The creed looks good to me. What do you think? I know there's not much I can do about it, but I would feel better if I knew for sure it was fake. Thanks for your opinion.

Damn!

We can't say this often enough - spotting fake Coaches is NOT something that should be done by anyone unless they have years, even decades, of experience doing it. There are as many different indicators of fakes as there are different styles of Coach bags. There's NO "One Rule Fits All" that tells you what to look for, and often comparing photos of the details of a bag being authenticated with known, proven genuine bags with the same style numbers and made in the same plant and year, sometimes even the same month, is the only way to do it accurately.

Anyone who does their own authenticating unless they know how to find those kind of details here at tPF or who to ask is going to end up with fakes. That's why there are over 65, 000 authentication requests just in this Coach forum, and another 10,000-plus that were archived a few years ago. And that's JUST Coach.

ETA - The six Salearea Guides posted in this same sub-forum explain some of the warning signs but neither they nor the Daria48 Fake Coach Numbers List posted right after them in tha same thread have all the answers or list all the red flags. They're just Guides, but they're damned good ones if I do say so myself. I suggest you read through them several times at least just to learn some basics.
