I'd love to have you ask her to post the link to the website that deemed that bag as fake. There are other websites that claim authentication expertise but have little expertise!

In fact, I recommend that you send her this link:

No response to my question where she actually posted, or if at all.
I guess I should be glad she did not actually BUY the bag!
Removed the bid and blocked.

Waiting until after you've won an auction is probably the safest way if you're worried about a deal getting snapped out from under you by someone reading these boards. You just have to be willing to risk a few Non-Paying Bidder strikes from Ebay if the bag turns out to be fake. And like Fuzzy, I'm a firm believer in sniping.

And NO, I'm not the person who won that auction, just to make that very clear! :D
You don't even have to worry about non-paying bidder strikes!
If you buy it or win the auction and then find out it is fake
BEFORE the seller sends it, just ask them to cancel.
I am sure they would happily cancel the transaction rather than
have to deal with a return and all the accompanying trouble and expense.

I NEVER refuse a buyer who asks to cancel a sale.
What purpose is there in forcing someone to buy something they don't want?

Best of luck next time!
AND I DID NOT BUY THAT ONE EITHER.....
Though if I had seen it I probably WOULD have LOL!!
It was a great deal.

LOL! Thanks! Still new to the game so trying to learn the proper etiquette!

Hello ladies, I had no much luck finding great deals or unusual bags for some time, just now I got two that first I hope they are authentic and second, I also hope to find out their proper name, age.. a little history, always so interesting when you ladies share your knowledge. Thank you so very much in advance.

The black one could be a Madison Maggie, Soho....? In poor condition but was dirt cheap, worth the risk, the creed is very scratched up, it looks by the interior that a cat got inside.
Size about 11.5 x 7 x 4.5 inches - Creed C05S-8A09 (no spelling mistakes that I can tell, but hardly readable).

The tan one I believe is real with more certainty, the little coin purse accessory match perfectly, but I understand they were sold separately?
Size about 10 x 8 x 2.5 inches. A pocket under the flap and another in the back.

Comments: Is this authentic?

Sorry, it's almost impossible to say for sure because there aren't any distinguishing details other than the stamp on the bottom, and any counterfeiter can copy a Coach stamp. And it's a style that Coach probably made in dozens of different versions and fabrics.

All I can say is that there's no OBVIOUS sign of it being fake, but there's no way I can authenticate it for certain.

Thank you for you time! I might just pass then.
While it's difficult to authenticate, I'd feel comfortable enough to recommend it as authentic.

One more to authenticate. . .

Within minutes of my posting this, the bag sold. Grrr, I have longed for one of these. I have noticed that some people authenticate after their purchase. While I sure it is not recommended, I am wondering if that is the way to go.
Thanks for listening!

While waiting until after you've won is certainly a way to ensure that someone who might have seen the "thumbs up" here won't buy it out from under you, be aware that many of the AT (authenticate this) authenticators for other brands won't authenticate if the listing has ended.

Here on AT Coach, we don't mind doing so but others aren't so flexible. Just make sure you'll be able to get whatever brand authenticated if you wait until after you've won it.

I'm sure part of the reason they won't authenticate after the fact is because in doing so, they see it as enabling buyers who don't do their due diligence before bidding/buying.

All's fair in love and war! You have to remember too, though that for every person who uses this forum there are probably fifty that have never heard of the purseforum or been on it. So it won't always be someone from these boards swooping in for the kill!

A bag's age can be determined by the date codes in the serial number if it's from 1994 or newer, see the Salearea Guides at Ebay for more info.

Both of them are genuine
# 8a09 - Soho Leather Pocket Tote, 2005

# 9812 - Ridgefield Flap, 1999. I don't know the name for the coin purse

The coin purse/ mini wallet was called a multi-function purse and the style number is 7219. Yours still has the original keyring; sometimes they get lost.

Hello, authenticators! I loved bigal's Hampton satchel so much I found one and made an offer which was accepted immediately. I thought I'd have a little time to get it authenticated so here goes nothing
