Bone Metropolis bag.
I am wondering about the "M" plant as I see that for Costa Rica too.
Thank you!

Just FYI - I sent this buyer all the info, the links, and lots of explanations.
She did not respond.
I wrote again, politely, and she did not respond.
Now after all she just left me a neutral feedback with the comment "OK".
WTF???
If she did not like the bag she could have just returned it.
WTF again
SO - happy to share her user ID so other sellers can avoid a problem "redsteph1975".
So she got links to TPF with the authentications from all of us and still had the nerve to ding your feedback? What is it that bothers her?

I wonder whether redsteph1975 realizes how many Coach sellers read here. She already bought another Coach bag. Maybe her next purchase attempt will be blocked by someone's BBL. ;)

I'm sorry she found you.

I recently purchased a large group of bags and thankfully they all look good to me.
But I have a couple that need a look ---
Original auction was 221753167358
Seller: pmambrose
Link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lot-Of-31-Authentic-Vintage-Coach-Handbags-Great-Condition-/221753167358?

I looked up this first bag and found the style to be a "NEW BERKELY CONVERTIBLE BACKPACK" so maybe my bag was the "older" style?
Wow, this one is so interesting! Every Berkeley backpack I can find was made 4 to 6 months after yours. The creed in yours doesn't have the correct wording for a Berkeley, but they may not have created the Berkeley creed yet. The number font is perfect for the B plant, and that plant was used for Berkeley production.

It is a Frankenstein bag. It looks like a backpack but can't be carried as one. It might be a concept bag, but because so many of the design details are different, it doesn't match what a style 9016 should look like, and we can't prove authenticity.

I'm hitting you over the head now, so duck! Recent strap hardware does have a logo but only on the type in this listing: http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Coach-2...768?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1c5374f790
I don't know what you call these types of clips. There also are a few that with attachments that look like rings and I think they might be marked.

Dogleash clips aren't marked and I don't know if they make any current styles other than classics that have trigger clips, but I doubt they would be marked. There isn't enough flat area.

ETA: I found this listing which shows the kind of clip that has a logo: http://www.ebay.com/itm/COACH-ADJUS...5ff839&pid=100011&rk=6&rkt=10&sd=191585765853

Ok, those I'll accept since I've seen a few of them on recent styles. So "Hyacinth's Half-Arsed Rule #2" should probably be "Coach never marked their name or logo on any Trigger-type or Dogleash strap clips".

Notice I specified "STRAP clips" because there is one oddball early Valet keychain style 7364 with two dogleash clips and at least one has a Coach logo.

From everything I've seen, the term "New" when you find it in a catalog or on a Wayback archive of an old website page, doesn't mean that something is a new version of an existing style. It just means that it's a new, recently introduced style.

I think Whateve is right, you managed to get a Pilot Bag long before Coach ever started marking them as such. Note the "FS" stamp on the creed, it's not uncommon to see that in bags that had some kind of oddball mistake or for some reason weren't sold through the same channels as the boutique styles.

And yes, Coach made mistakes when stamping serial numbers. As long as the rest of the bag is right, it doesn't mean anything, it just might make it a bit harder to sell and should always be disclosed in the listing.

If you can still leave additional Feedback comments you might want to say something like "Authenticity verified by top Purseforum Coach experts, PM me for details".

The second one is from the same auction....
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lot-Of-31-Authentic-Vintage-Coach-Handbags-Great-Condition-/221753167358?

It's really huge, about 17" long at the top.
It shows style #4945 on the creed but it actually LOOKS like #4943.
Do you think it was a mix-up in the plant?

THanks as always!!

I can't read the creed. Can you take a better picture?

The creed looks ok. It matches others from that plant and month for Sonoma styles. The B plant Sonoma creed was still using the Made in the United States wording at the bottom months after the standard creed had changed to the newer formatting with the country of manufacture in the body of the creed statement.

Hi everybody! I have 2 to authenticate. First up. Saffiano/cross grain swing pack. Thank you so much!

thank you - as you are obviously very knowledgeable in this Brand, it would be a little rude of me to think a second opinion is needed !! very kind of you to respond so quickly, appreciated xx

SHHHHHH. That's actually a secret code among the authenticators that says "It's not really the time period I'm most familiar with, so an extra pair of eyes would be welcome".

But thank you for the vote of confidence, The Bucket Woman is always pleased when the neighbors recognise her excellent taste and her obviously superior opinion in all matters pertaining to quality merchandise. ;)

COFFEE AT ELEVEN !!!
