Genuine, it looks like a style 9852 Ranch Bag from the early 1990s
Thank you. I’m still new to collecting vintage Coach bags. Sometimes I come across bags I haven’t seen before and don’t know their names or style number and the response from authenticators here to my questions have been very helpful in that, it helps me when I google looking for mod shots to see how the bag looks on others and if it’s something I want to purchase or not. Thanks again.

Hello Authenticators! I found this bag at the thrift store. Can you please confirm it is indeed real? It has a one sided tag and a Talon zipper. Also, I would like to know more about this bag as I just love it, but I’m not certain the style name/number. Thank you!!!

It's a genuine Duffle Sac, style 9085 and that one was made in the late 1980s.

Here's a Coach catalog page from the same time period, click on the thumbnail to enlarge

I just want to add a few more comments about the bag itself.

The year code says it was made in 1996, but NO 1996 Coach handbags had nickel-color hardware. So if the bag is genuine and the hardware silver-color like the seller says, the hardware apparently was replaced but with the wrong color. Maybe one of the owners just wanted that color, but that might make proving authenticity more difficult. And I'm NOT saying the bag is fake, just that the hardware not only isn't original but it's not even the original color.

The inside pocket zipper is a MESS. That was probably also replaced and whoever did it made a really bad job of it. I'm getting seasick just looking at those waves, an original Coach zipper would never be installed so poorly.

Even if I had no problems with that seller, I wouldn't recommend buying that bag.

Thank you so much for your in-depth analysis! I’ll definitely take your recommendation and keep looking.

Hello Authenticators!

This is my first post. I would very much appreciate it if this bag could be authenticated. The seller looks like they have a separate fake in their inventory, which makes me suspicious of this one, even though it looks legit. That one appears to be missing the country of origin in its creed.
Also, is it normal for the nickel version to have a gold internal zipper? This is not the first listing I have seen with this combination.

Model: Coach Willis 9927

Size: 10x10x3

Thank you so much for your help!

Please note that we require the link to the listing. If the same photos are already on the listing page, there's no need to copy them to your post here.

We also require the name of the seller. If they have other possible fakes listed we'd like to know about it. The info we require is posted in the IMPORTANT-READ ME post at the top of each page in this forum.

A bag from 1996 shouldn't have nickel hardware. What color does the seller say it is? And if you're only going by the photos you're showing, are you sure the brass color isn't just washed out in the photos because they were taken in direct or indirect sunlight? That's been known to happen.

I can see "UNITES STATES" on the creed. It isn't very clear, but I know where to look and what to look for.

Please post back as a REPLY to your first post and include the listing URL and the seller's name. Thank you.
Here’s the link: https://etsy.me/342sbWB

The shop name is GutsyGirls.

I removed the photos I submitted, as they were redundant.

As far as the nickel versus brass coloring in sunlight, the seller states that it is nickel hardware on the outside of the bag

Even if I had no problems with that seller, I wouldn't recommend buying that bag.

I'd like to add a bit more information about the seller, GutsyGirls (on Etsy) aka many IDs on ebay, including
debbieb208 - https://www.ebay.com/usr/debbieb208
gutsygirldebb-1 (1) -No longer a registered user - https://www.ebay.com/usr/gutsygirldebb-1
classiccottage7 (7) - No longer a registered user - https://www.ebay.com/usr/classiccottage7
marbrow_267 - No longer a registered use - https://www.ebay.com/usr/marbrow_267?

That seller, on both her Etsy GutsyGirls ID and on ebay Ebay debbieb208 ID, has listed, sold and had removed more fakes than I can count! And although there were many cases when she knew items were fake (having been informed that ebay removed them as counterfeit, she still listed them on etsy, not even ending her listings when messaged through etsy that the items were fake.

A search of the Coach Hall of Shame thread shows some of the many fakes that were posted and reported. It's eyeopening!

Be very careful!

Not really. I can't enlarge the creed and serial photo at all, and I'm not even sure what style it's supposed to be since there aren't any measurements. Sorry. There's what seems to be an outlet stamp but that by itself is only a good indicator that it might be genuine. We've seen outlet stamps in fakes too.
Hi. The seller sent me some more pictures. Hopefully this helps...
