It's a genuine Maggie Duffle made in 1997. BUT it does NOT have "solid brass hardware" like the seller claims, please don't expect it to. Coach stopped using solid brass especially for large pieces like buckles on almost all their bags by 1990, except for a handful of bags from the Dakota line in 1991 and 1992.

Yes, the creed stamp is pretty worn out but that happened a lot when the same stamp was used by one plant for a long time. Once Coach started changing the creed wording between 1994 and 1996 and issuing new stamps every 4 or 5 years, you didn't see so many worn-out creed stampings.

I removed the photos I submitted, as they were redundant.

As far as the nickel versus brass coloring in sunlight, the seller states that it is nickel hardware on the outside of the bag

I just want to add a few more comments about the bag itself.

The year code says it was made in 1996, but NO 1996 Coach handbags had nickel-color hardware. So if the bag is genuine and the hardware silver-color like the seller says, the hardware apparently was replaced but with the wrong color. Maybe one of the owners just wanted that color, but that might make proving authenticity more difficult. And I'm NOT saying the bag is fake, just that the hardware not only isn't original but it's not even the original color.

The inside pocket zipper is a MESS. That was probably also replaced and whoever did it made a really bad job of it. I'm getting seasick just looking at those waves, an original Coach zipper would never be installed so poorly.

Even if I had no problems with that seller, I wouldn't recommend buying that bag.
